Wuhua meadow

Wuhua meadow is the best preserved, highest vegetation coverage and most ornamental natural meadow in Hebei Province so far.

The gurgling Hulu river flows through the grassland, moistening this fertile land and making the grassland vegetation very lush.

The five flower meadow is named after the five colors of flowers blooming in summer and autumn. It has the reputation of "the first meadow in the world" and "the most beautiful flower sea in North China".

Every summer, thousands of acres of meadow, blooming with yellow, white, purple, pink and other colorful flowers, constitute an extremely beautiful picture.

At the end of July and the beginning of August, Trollius is in full bloom and golden everywhere. Against the background of blue sky and white clouds, it forms a unique grassland beauty with the surrounding mountains and valleys.

Wuhua meadow

Wuhua meadow is located 7.5km south of Guyuan County and west of chibao highway, with a total area of 4000 mu. The average height of forage is 0.8 M. more than 630 species of vegetation have been found in the meadow, among which Ranunculaceae is the main species, and there are more than 10 species of rare plants in the province or in China, such as Huanghua, Liriope, etc.

Five flower meadow is named after the five colors of flowers blooming in summer and autumn. Every year from May to June in late spring and early summer, a kind of pink flower named xiaohuacao Yumei blooms in diannei. From midsummer to early autumn, Golden Lotus and yellow flower bloom again in diannei. From afar, the whole meadow presents a noble and elegant golden color. A large number of tourists come to enjoy the flowers, take pictures and enjoy the beauty of nature in the golden ocean.

From August to September in the golden autumn

The purple Granna flowers are in full bloom. From a distance, the whole meadow presents a gentle and elegant purple. When you are in it, you will feel a kind of tender feeling. The purple mother-in-law flower has not yet withered, Polygonum capitatum has begun to draw out long milky ears, the white waves in the breeze like to take you into the vast ocean.

From September to October in late autumn, the purple fruits of Sanguisorba officinalis are covered with milky white waves. Far view is a dazzling and unrestrained purple, in which you feel a fruitful harvest passion.

Historical legend

It is said that the Empress Dowager Xiao Chuo of the Liao Dynasty led the people to hunt. She saw a spotted sika deer with five colors. She drew a bow and set up an arrow, and hit the sika deer with one arrow. The sika deer was injured and ran away. The Empress Dowager Xiao led the people to rush after the sika deer and went over the mountains to a beautiful open land. All of a sudden, the sika deer turned over and fell, disappearing in a patch of water and grass. The Empress Dowager led the crowd to the meadow where a large area of flowers were in full bloom, and the sika deer disappeared. From then on, she called it the colorful meadow. This beautiful legend puts a mysterious veil on the beautiful five color flower meadow. There are countless exotic flowers and plants in the five flower meadow, especially the Golden Lotus. This flower can not only be used as medicine, but also be made into superior tea, which can cool and relieve summer heat, relieve phlegm and cough, moisten throat and clear lung. There are also yellow flowers, commonly known as day lily, which can be spread all over the meadow in full bloom, which is a delicious dish on the table. The meadow also produces wild leek, leek flower, wild scallion and many other edible wild vegetables. There are many excellent herbs in the meadow, such as Gentiana macrophylla, bupleurum, Ophiopogon japonicus, Astragalus membranaceus, sea cucumber and so on. When summer comes, a large number of migratory birds migrate here to build nests, incubate eggs and reproduce in the meadow. At this time, a hundred flowers bloom and a hundred birds contend. The euphemistic songs and light and quick glimpses of birds flutter under the blue sky and among the flowers. Diannei has a small river running through the north and south, twists and turns, halfway into a small pool. In the midsummer and rainy season, the river rises, the current is turbulent, several small fish swim rapidly, and water waves appear. At the bottom of the water pool, there are sometimes several undercurrents bubbling out, rippling in circles, embellishing the beauty of the meadow scenery, bringing mystery and strangeness.

Animals and plants

The average vegetation coverage rate of Wuhua meadow is more than 90%, and the animal and plant resources are very rich. There are more than 600 species of wild plants, such as Trollius, shandanhua, Liulan, cuiju, Huabei blue potted flower, etc.; there are more than 80 species of birds, such as grey crane, heron, sparrow hawk, quail, bailing, etc.; there are more than 50 species of wild animals, such as hedgehog, rabbit, red fox, etc.

There are four distinct seasons, green grass in spring, brilliant flowers in summer, high sky and light clouds in autumn, and pure ice in winter. In summer and autumn, flowers bloom in five colors, and all kinds of flowers open one after another, so it is called five flower meadow. The average daily temperature in the scenic spot from July to August is only 17.8 degrees, which is an ideal place for ecotourism and summer resort.

Especially since the end of July every year, Guyuan Wuhua meadow has ushered in the most beautiful and colorful season of the year, with visitors wandering in the sea of flowers as much as possible.
