Mona Rudao, born in 1882 in Wushe, is the eldest son of Rudao Bai, the leader of mahpo. On October 27, 1930, Mona Rudao led the Wushe people to revolt against Japan and broke out the "Wushe incident" which shocked both inside and outside the island.
Human history
After Taiwan was cut off from Japan, after Japan's forceful suppression of Taiwan's indigenous people in 1915 (Japan implemented the "five year plan for Tibet administration" from 1910 to 1915), Wushe was an important base for the Japanese to control the central mountains because of its cool climate, green mountains and clear waters, and well-developed transportation. It also became a model tribe in the mountains. The Japanese set up schools, post offices, police stations, hotels, etc Medical institutions, camphor club, etc.
At that time, the Japanese thought that Taiwan belonged to Japan, and the land and forest resources also belonged to Japan. Therefore, the living space and hunting space of the indigenous people were limited. At the same time, they used the indigenous people to engage in all kinds of labor work and develop forest resources. However, these labor work failed to cooperate with the existing farming and hunting period of the indigenous people, which affected their farming activities and hunting activities People also deliberately went to the holy land of the aboriginal origin "xizaixik" to harvest and reclaim land. All kinds of behaviors made the aborigines hate the Japanese.
In addition, in order to strengthen the control over the Aboriginal people, the Japanese government encourages the Japanese police in the mountainous areas to marry the daughter of the Aboriginal people, that is, the policy of "he fan". However, the Japanese police often abandon the Aboriginal women from beginning to end, and the Japanese often play tricks on the Aboriginal women, and even cheat the Aboriginal women to go to Japan to work as prostitutes, which makes the Aboriginal people continuously accumulate their love for Japan My hatred also planted the seeds of resistance against Japan.
On October 27, 1930, the Japanese government held a "Taiwan shrine sacrifice" to commemorate the death of Prince nengjiu (the younger brother of Meiji emperor) of Baichuan palace in Taiwan. As a rule, the Wushe area held a sports meeting to celebrate. The Taiya people thought it was a good time to launch an uprising, so monarudao led the people of six tribes to attack the Japanese stronghold in the early morning and cut off the Japanese All external traffic and communication equipment were cut off, and the "Wushe incident" was started.
After the outbreak of the Anti Japanese riot, the "Taiwan Governor's office" dispatched police and troops from all over Taiwan to attack Wushe and suppress the uprising aborigines. The Anti Japanese Aborigines were divided into two retreating tribes. Monarudao led one of them to fight against the Japanese in mahpo society. Later, after mahpo society was occupied by the Japanese, the uprising aborigines retreated into the mountains to fight hard. In order to avoid consuming food, they also fought hard Let the warriors have no worries to fight against the Japanese, and the women with their children hang themselves together. By the beginning of December 1930, the war against Japan had lasted for more than 40 days, and the warriors were in a dilemma of starvation, cold and exhaustion of ammunition. Seeing that the situation was over, monalu killed himself with a gun on a cliff after his wife and children died, ending the life of a generation of heroes.
