Four knowledge library
Four knowledge library, in Chengde Mountain Resort, after the humble Jingcheng hall. It is a five room hall. Emperor Kangxi once titled it "yiqingkuang". In 1786, Emperor Qianlong added the title "four knowledge library". The meaning of the four knowledge is "the gentleman knows the micro, the outstanding, the soft, the rigid, and the hope of all men" in the book of changes.
There are winding corridors around the garden, which make the garden quiet and poetic. This is the place where the emperor of the Qing Dynasty summoned his courtiers and princes of all nationalities to deal with the military and national affairs and to change clothes and rest before and after the grand ceremony. According to reports, the Qing emperor summoned the zhebuzun Danba Hutuktu I, III, IV, Panchen VI, turhute Khan wobaxi, etc. from kharka Mongolia.
The word "four knowledge" mentioned by Emperor Qianlong comes from the book of changes. Because it is said in the book of changes that "a gentleman knows the micro, the outstanding, the soft, and the rigid, which is the hope of all men." Emperor Qianlong highly praised this remark, because it just expressed his ruling strategy of combining hardness and softness, kindness and power. Before and after the emperor went to court, he changed his clothes here, and sometimes summoned princes, ministers and minority leaders here. Long live photo room and accessory room display some rare treasures, including imperial official kiln porcelain, enamel ware, empress Che Yu and stone drum.
The name of the building. In the Qing Dynasty, the Danbo Jingcheng Hall of Rehe summer resort is located in the north of the four knowledge library with five couplets, which is connected with the corridor of Danbo Jingcheng hall. The title of emperor Shengzu of the Qing Dynasty was "yiqingkuang". In his later years, Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty added the title of "sizhishuwu". This is the place where the emperor dealt with government affairs and summoned ministers. Zhebuzundanbahuktu I, III and IV of the kharka Mongols, Panchen VI of Tibet, and turhutehanwobaxi were all summoned here. When the ceremony was held, the emperor changed his clothes here. In the north of the house, there is a corridor connected with the Wansui photo room (19 rooms), and there are five rooms on each side. Taking this as the boundary, the south is the former dynasty, and the north is the afterbed. Xisanjia is a treasure raft metaphor. It is a Buddhist hall in Qianlong period and a place for empress to worship Buddha.
