Martyr Qiu Shaoyun memorial hall is a memorial hall for Chinese revolutionary figures. It was built to commemorate martyr Qiu Shaoyun, a first-class hero of the volunteer army to resist US aggression and aid Korea. The memorial is located at the top of Fengshan mountain in Shaoyun Park, Tongliang District, Chongqing. It opened in October 1962 and is now free to the public.

Introduction to the memorial

Located in Tongliang District, Chongqing, the memorial hall of martyr Qiu Shaoyun is a memorial hall for Chinese revolutionary figures. It was built to commemorate martyr Qiu Shaoyun, a "first-class hero" and a "special meritorious official" of the Chinese people's Volunteer Army, who bravely sacrificed his life in the 391 highland battlefield in the war of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea, in order to take care of the whole war situation and put discipline above life. The museum opened in October 1962 and is now open to the public free of charge.

Qiu Shaoyun memorial hall is located on the top of Fengshan mountain in Tongliang, adjacent to Tongliang middle school, a famous school of one hundred years. On the stone wall of the main entrance of the memorial hall, the name of the museum inscribed by former president Yang Shangkun is engraved. On both sides of the main entrance are the fire buildings, which are reminiscent of Qiu Shaoyun's deeds and contain the symbolic meaning of Fire King Kong. In the museum, the pagodas are beautiful, the camphors are fragrant, and the ancient banyan trees spread a huge canopy among the green grass and red flowers. The museum consists of two parts: Monument and exhibition hall of heroic deeds. The exhibition hall and the monument are separated by the natural pool, facing each other in the shade, which is solemn and majestic. "Martyr Qiu Shaoyun monument" is 15 meters high. On the top of the monument is a 5-meter-high bronze statue of the martyr. The name of the monument is inscribed by Zhu De. More than 250 pieces of martyrs' clothes, pictures and auxiliary displays are displayed in the heroic deeds exhibition hall, which shows and praises the life of martyr Qiu Shaoyun.

The monument of martyr Qiu Shaoyun is located in front of the exhibition hall. The height of the monument is 10 meters. The front of the monument is engraved with "monument of martyr Qiu Shaoyun" and the back is engraved with a brief biography of the martyrs. The top of the monument is a 5-meter-high statue of the martyrs. The front of the pedestal is embossed with gold medal, olive leaf and submachine gun, and the back is decorated with first-class national flag medal.

The exhibition hall of Qiu Shaoyun's deeds covers an area of more than 1700 square meters. There are preface hall, calligraphy and painting exhibition hall and four exhibition halls of heroic deeds. More than 190 pieces of cultural relics, including relics, pictures, inscriptions by central leaders, certificates of commendation for martyrs by President Kim Il Sung of the Korean government, medals and gifts for martyrs' families, are displayed to show the glorious life of martyr Qiu Shaoyun.

Characters and deeds

Qiu Shaoyun (1926-1952) was born in a poor farmer's family in qiujiagou, Yuping village, Shaoyun Town, Tongliang District, Chongqing (formerly Tongliang County, Sichuan). In the evil old society, Qiu Shaoyun lost his father at the age of nine, his mother at the age of eleven, and began his long-term career at the age of thirteen. He was oppressed and exploited by the landlords and gentry.

In April 1949, the Kuomintang reactionaries made a desperate struggle in an attempt to save the southwest corner and forced the poor to be cannon fodder. Qiu Shaoyun was sold out by his boss and forced to be a strong man. Qiu Shaoyun's bitter childhood and miserable family experience planted the seeds of hatred in his young heart. He looks forward to light and liberation!

In 1949, under the order of Chairman Mao of the CPC Central Committee, Liu Deng's army went south and liberated Chengdu in December 1949. Accordingly, Sichuan was liberated. Qiu Shaoyun's family and the hardworking people in the world were reborn. The sun came out and the Communist Party came to the rescue. Qiu Shaoyun resolutely joined the PLA as a PLA soldier.

In March 1951, in response to Chairman Mao's great call to "Resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea and defend the country," Qiu Shaoyun joined the Chinese people's Volunteer Army. When he came to Korea, he saw that the US imperialists and the Lee Seung Wan Gang did all kinds of evil to the Korean people by burning, killing, robbing and plundering them. Seeing Korean children suffer the same suffering as in their childhood, Qiu Shaoyun's hatred for the imperialist reactionaries is greatly aroused, and he wants to contribute everything to defeat the American aggressors.

Details of "391" highland battlefield deeds

In October 1952, Qiu Shaoyun's company accepted a glorious and arduous task, that is, to eliminate the US and Li bandit forces in the 391 highland between pingkang and Jinhua, and push the front to the south. However, there is a 3000 meter wide open area between our army base and 391 highland. This is the enemy's artillery blockade area. It is not easy to impact under such a long-distance artillery fire. Therefore, in order to shorten the impact distance and surprise the enemy, our army decided to hide its troops in the front of the enemy's position the night before launching the general attack. Before the soldiers set out, the head of the army instructed: "it is a glorious tradition of our army to improve discipline and resolutely carry out orders. This task is very important and arduous. Under no circumstances can the target be exposed. " Qiu Shaoyun and his comrades in arms firmly answered: "resolutely complete the task!" To make 52 people lurk under the enemy's eyes for more than 20 hours, no one can expose the target. Indeed, the task is arduous and there are many difficulties. However, the Chinese people's volunteers armed with Mao Zedong thought deeply realized that the war of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea is a just war against aggression and represents the will and wishes of the people of the motherland and the peace loving people all over the world. Therefore, they have high morale and fighting spirit, showing incomparable firmness and initiative, and earth shaking revolutionary heroism and self sacrifice. On the eve of the battle, Qiu Shaoyun, with a deep hatred for the enemy, handed in an application for joining the party to the Party branch. He wrote a steel oath: in order to win the battle, willing to give everything!

In the middle of the night, 52 fully armed volunteers spread out in an orderly way as planned and sneaked into a field of Artemisia near the 391 highland. Everyone planted Artemisia from head to foot. When the wind blows, the grass on the body and the grass on the ground shake at the same time, and there is no trace of camouflage. Qiu Shaoyun and his platoon were hidden by a meadow covered with wormwood to the east of the highland.

At dawn, the soldiers first saw the layers of barbed wire and bunkers on the 391 highland. A machine gun pointed straight down the hill from the firing port of the bunker. The armed enemy walked back and forth in the traffic ditch on the ridge, and looked down the hill with binoculars from time to time. At more than ten o'clock, an accident happened. A gang of Li CHENGWAN's bandits got out of the bunker and rushed to the direction where Comrade Qiu Shaoyun and his comrades in arms were lurking.

Qiu Shaoyun and his comrades in arms calmly looked at each other and motioned with each other's eyes: don't be impulsive, good lurking is victory. They continued to lurk firmly and calmly in the grass. The enemy is getting closer Suddenly, two soldiers were found by the enemy. The enemy stepped back two steps, swept a round of bullets in a panic, turned around and ran to the top of the mountain.

At this critical moment, if the enemy is allowed to go back alive, the hidden secrets will be exposed and the situation will be very serious. The regiment commander in the observation station can see all this very clearly. The commander immediately gave an order: destroy the enemy with artillery fire! All of a sudden, the gunfire rumbled, and a wall of fire was built on the hillside of 391 highland, cutting off the enemy's escape. All the enemies of a class were annihilated in the hillside. Seeing this, Qiu Shaoyun looked excitedly at his comrades in arms on both sides and expressed his happiness.

The enemy on the mountain was terrified by the gunfire, and they were afraid to move in the blockhouse. Half an hour later, several enemy planes flew from the South and circled over the volunteers. Suddenly, the enemy plane dropped incendiary bombs. One of the incendiary bombs fell on the grass two meters away from Qiu Shaoyun, and the burning liquid splashed on Qiu Shaoyun's left leg. In the blink of an eye, the Artemisia grass inserted in his feet burned, and the flames were rising. At this moment, Qiu Shaoyun could put out the flames just by turning his body, but it would expose the target! Qiu Shaoyun thought of attacking the enemy better and winning the whole battle. He fell firmly in the grass, and then his clothes were on fire. After a while, the fire spread all over his body. In order to win the revolution, Qiu Shaoyun is like a stone. The fire continued to burn on Qiu Shaoyun. Comrades saw the fire devouring their comrades in arms. They were so anxious that they bit their lips. Several times, they wanted to stand up and help Qiu Shaoyun put out the fire. However, Qiu Shaoyun and his comrades in arms deeply understand that at this juncture, as long as someone moves, the whole class, the whole latent troops and the whole counterattack plan will be finished, and the victory they want will be lost.
