history
The ripe stream at night
Shuxi ancient bridge was built in the third year of Kaixi (1207) of the Southern Song Dynasty, with nine holes and ten piers. By the fourth year of Wanli (1576) of the Ming Dynasty, it added a bridge house and became a wind and rain corridor bridge. The bridge is 140 meters long and 4.8 meters wide, with 49 bridge houses and benches on both sides for visitors to rest. Benches divide the corridor bridge into three roads. In ancient times, pedestrians walked on both sides and horses were opened to traffic in the middle. Now only pedestrians are allowed to pass and watch. On both sides of the bridge, there are wooden railings with unique Jiangnan characteristics, which are safe and beautiful. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the town from the railings. "A hundred feet long rainbow locks the blue stream, luting and tipu clear the cold autumn From a distance, I saw the boat passing under the bridge, and I felt like I was swimming in the mirror. " This is the sentence in Yongshu Xiqiao written by the ancients Xu Shouzhao. Since the completion of Shuxi bridge, scholars have written a lot of poems. Among them, he Baoren, a poet of the Republic of China, wrote a long poem "you Shuxi bridge".
