According to Taiwan Temple grand view, it is commonly known as the Prince Temple of San kuacuo. Founded in the 12th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1673), it was rebuilt soon, and rebuilt again in the 9th year of tongzhi (1870), and named Sanfeng Pavilion. He is dedicated to Prince Nezha, marshal of Zhongtan.
All year round, there are pilgrims from all over Taiwan in Sanfeng palace. On the ninth Double Ninth Festival of the ninth lunar month, when the third prince's birthday, there are endless firecrackers, chariots and pilgrims.
Design
Prince Nezha, marshal of Zhongtan, is the largest Prince Temple in Taiwan. Its construction is closely related to the three surnamed families of Wang, CAI and Zheng. As early as before Zheng Chenggong's recovery of Taiwan, San kuao was still an undeveloped wilderness. Only after Zheng Chenggong's recovery of Taiwan did these three clansmen come here from Fujian to cultivate and develop, and each occupied one area, forming three lots. Later, sun multiplied, the population increased, and other surnames gradually moved in, and gradually developed into a town called "San Kua CuO", which is now the Sanmin District of Kaohsiung City. According to the custom of Taiwan people, every village in a settlement will be built a guardian temple in this town. Therefore, the villagers of sankuacuo built "Sanfeng Pavilion" after discussion, and went to the prince's temple in Longshui (located in Gushan District of Kaohsiung City) to worship Prince Nezha, marshal of Zhongtan. The villagers of sankuacuo named the temple "Sanfeng Pavilion" because the temple faces fengbitou mountain, so they named it "San" in sankuaju and "Feng" in fengbitou mountain. The temple was built as a thatched cottage at the beginning, and then it was continuously expanded and rebuilt. In 1964, it was overhauled and began to take shape. Its form is a palace style building in northern China. The palace is very grand, and it is divided into three parts, all of which are two-story buildings.
The design of Sanfeng palace is magnificent from the front. There are five gates. The third gate in the center is the main gate, the Qimen Pavilion in the East and the Changgeng Pavilion in the West. The five doors are painted in black with door gods painted on them. They are delicate and vivid in shape and soft in color. Under the eaves of the roof, there are layers of brackets, decorated with various statues. In the center of the main hall of human beings, there is a prince Nezha, the marshal of Zhongtan, who is clever and intelligent. This statue is not as solemn and solemn as the ordinary deities. The facsimile of its statue shows the intelligence and sensitivity of children. Walking from the main hall to the Lingxiao hall upstairs, you can see the caisson on the roof of the main hall. It's amazing. It's round and square. Each structure is fine and repeated. All of them are handmade masterpieces. The Lingxiao hall above the main hall is dedicated to the throne of the Jade Emperor. The carving, color matching and pattern in the hall are excellent. The view is magnificent and the color is bright. The back hall is the main hall dedicated to Sakyamuni Buddha and Guanyin Bodhisattva, and the bell and Drum Tower is on the left and right sides. The temple is a model of temples in Taiwan for its exquisite carvings, beams, arches, pillars and eaves.
characteristic
The temple adopts the northern palace style architecture, which is grand in scale. It is divided into three entrances, all of which are high-rise buildings. The front hall has five doors and two pavilions. There are bell and drum towers on both sides. Under the eaves, layers of Dougong are picked out, and the structure is complex. The ceiling of the hall is almost full of caisson, which is magnificent. What's more, all the Dougong, beams and couplets on the eaves are painted rather than carved, which is a great change of temple architecture in recent years. The central hall of Sanfeng palace is dedicated to Prince Nezha. The wooden statue of Nezha, the "ancestor" of Sanfeng palace more than 300 years ago, is still sitting in the smoke. The sedan chair Nezha took on his tour has a history of more than 100 years. In addition, the ancient carved God table is still well preserved. The upper hall is dedicated to the Jade Emperor, while the rear hall is dedicated to Sakyamuni, Puxian, Guanyin and other Bodhisattvas. It is a typical Buddhist and Taoist temple in Taiwan.
