Liji evil land is located in Liji village, Beinan township. It is also called Liji moon world. Liji evil land was originally a mud layer accumulated on the sea floor. Because of the crustal plate movement, it was pushed out of the surface. However, the texture of the terrain is weak, long-term rain erosion, and vegetation is not growing, forming a unique scene full of rain erosion ditches. It is a rare beauty in Taiwan You can't see it from the Peinan bridge or Liji bridge.

Cultural characteristics of Badlands

Liji District, located in the north of Taitung City, is sandwiched between Beinan stream and low hills with sparse vegetation. The latter is a famous "Liji mixed layer". It is mainly composed of mudstones with disordered bedding. Due to poor water permeability and air permeability, it is not conducive to the growth of plants. Rainwater forms zonal rain erosion gullies on the surface of the formation, commonly known as "Liji Badi".

In addition, across the beinanxi River and the residential area, there is a 2 km wide cliff terrain, belonging to the beinanshan mountain at the end of the central mountain range. After being washed by rain, it becomes a unique landscape similar to ink painting effect, commonly known as "xiaohuangshan".

In order to further investigate and sort out local resources and characteristics, Liji Community Development Association, with the assistance of Taidong Forest Management Office of Forestry Bureau of the Agricultural Commission, completed the compilation and printing of the guide leaflet of the community in 2007. Evil land and evil fruit: Shiji orchard

The next morning, after enjoying a simple and warm breakfast, I went to the local famous Shiqi orchard to learn about Shiqi's pollination, grafting and other agricultural knowledge. I also visited Tujiao house of Zhu family, which has a history of 60 years. My grandmother, who is still living here, was also very happy to chat and take photos with others.

Go through Liji campus to yangyangshan trail. In addition to being a good place to overlook the surrounding landscape, you can also get to know the ecological resources of plants, insects, bats and so on. In addition, we will also visit the water source of abangan, which is an important source of water supply in Liji District, and visit the special natural landscapes such as salt water hot spring and tree boulder.

Bad land and bad fruit: guava orchard

Shiqi, mango and guava are the three fruits with the largest output in Liji district. Because the local mudstone geology is seafloor sediments, rich in minerals, resulting in the fruit is particularly sweet. Recently, Liji guava has become famous in the market as "Badi guava", which can be said to be one of the successful cases of industrial marketing combined with local resources. Under the careful guidance of the orchard owner, all of them experienced the fun of picking guava, and got a better understanding of the local agricultural environment and industrial characteristics.
