Tibet Medical College generally refers to Tibet Medical University
Tibet University of Tibetan medicine is a national traditional medicine university which integrates learning, research, medicine and production. It is approved by the Ministry of education. It is the only Tibetan Medicine University set up independently in China and the only Tibetan Medicine University set up independently in the world. It is a "Tibetan medicine talent training mode" jointly built by the people's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region and the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine and the national education system reform Reform pilot units.
The predecessor of Tibet Tibetan Medical University is Tibet Tibetan medical school (technical secondary school) and Tibet Medical Department of Tibet University. In September 1989, Tibet Medical College of Tibet University was established. In 1993, the State Education Commission approved the establishment of yaowangshan Tibetan Medical College independently. In 2001, the Ministry of Education approved it to be renamed Tibet Tibetan medical college. In 2018, it was renamed Tibet Tibetan Medical University.

Department of Tibetan medicine, Tibet University
In 1985, the Department of Tibetan medicine of Tibet University was established.
In September 1983, the Tibetan Medical School of the Tibet Autonomous Region was established.
In September 1989, with the approval of the people's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region, the Department of Tibetan medicine of Tibet University and the school of Tibetan medicine of Tibet Autonomous Region merged to establish the College of Tibetan medicine of Tibet University.
In February 1993, the State Education Commission approved the establishment of the Tibetan Medical College of Tibet University as yaowangshan Tibetan medical college.
In 1996, the college established the teaching pharmaceutical factory of Tibet Medical College and the teaching outpatient department of Tibet medical college.
In 1999, it was approved as the master's degree awarding point of ethnic medicine (Tibetan medicine).

In 2001, the Ministry of Education approved the name change to Tibet medical college.
In 2006, the college passed the undergraduate teaching evaluation of the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China, and the evaluation result was "qualified".
In 2010, the college was identified as the national education system reform pilot project "Tibetan medicine talent training mode reform pilot" unit.
On January 5, 2011, he signed a counterpart support agreement with Harbin Medical University, which provided counterpart support to Tibet medical college.
