Shuangta martyrs cemetery is a medium-sized cemetery. In the park, there are mainly the main landmark trees of Taiyuan - Sophora japonica, peony garden, rose and so on. The main purpose of visiting the cemetery is tomb sweeping. It's a good season before and after Qingming Festival. At this time, peony and rose are just the flower season, competing for variety and beauty, adding another style to the mausoleum. Give the martyrs a beautiful environment here, and also give the comrades who came to visit the graves a different mood after the reform and opening up. At this time, tomb sweeping and garden visiting are not only about tomb sweeping.
Twin Towers Temple
Shuangta temple, also known as Yongzuo temple, is a state-level cultural relic protection unit. It is located in the south of Haozhuang village, Taiyuan city. Because of the double towers, it is known as "Wenbi double towers" and becomes the symbol of Taiyuan.
Shuangta temple was founded in 1608, the 36th year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty. At that time, the Buddhist monk from Pingyang, Shanxi Province, was very famous. Pan Wang of Lu'an worshipped him as his teacher and supported him to build two big pagodas, named Xuanwen pagoda, with a height of 13 stories and a height of more than 50 meters. The Yongzuo temple, originally planned by the Buddhist monk, was a large-scale temple, but it was not yet completed. At the order of Emperor Wanli, he went to Xiantong temple in Wutai Mountain to "preach the precepts.". It is said that the bronze Hall of Xiantong temple was also built by him.
The main existing buildings in the temple are made of brick. The main hall and the East and west side hall are all in the shape of Wuliang hall, which are made of green brick and wood. There are two brick pagodas in the temple, which are called Double pagodas. They are also called Xuanwen pagodas because they were built by Li family, the mother of Emperor Wanli. The main tower is octagonal in plane, 13 levels, 54.7 meters high, decorated with glass ridge beast under the eaves, gorgeous and spectacular. There are guest rooms, Zen hall, Abbot's room, etc. In front of daxiongbao hall, the lilac and peony of Ming Dynasty had bright colors and fragrant flowers every flowering season, which added a lot of beauty to the temple.
characteristic
Taiyuan Shuangta Revolutionary Cemetery, Taiyuan Shuangta revolutionary martyrs cemetery, two brands, a set of institutions. Built in 1954, covering an area of 374 mu, it is located at the foot of the towering twin towers of Yongzuo temple, a famous scenic spot in Taiyuan. It is a patriotic education base named by the Ministry of civil affairs, Shanxi Province and Taiyuan City, a moral education demonstration base named by the province and city, and a key protection unit of memorial buildings for revolutionary martyrs. The park is solemn, fresh, elegant, and has pleasant scenery. It comes to visit, pay homage to, and teach patriotism every year Hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life participated in the education of revolutionary traditions. Taiyuan Shuangta Revolutionary Cemetery, as a main force in the funeral industry of the provincial capital, has been working hard for decades, boldly exploring the road of funeral reform, and constantly innovating and making new achievements on the way forward. The burial forms of ashes include: indoor burial, tree burial, wall burial, etc.
Since 1975, it began to handle the business of external storage of ashes. At that time, it could be said that it was the only one in the provincial capital. By the end of 1980s, the form of storage of ashes was indoor storage, and the level was limited to administrative level 18 or above. In the mid-1990s, the business scope of ashes storage was further broadened. The newly built wall burial palace broke the privilege that only the ashes of leading cadres above the administrative level 18 can enter the cemetery, and the funeral service projects have been further developed. Stepping into the 21st century, accelerating the pace of taking the lead in the development of civil affairs and "creating an ecological garden city" proposed by provinces and cities, our garden has set off a spring tide of funeral reform. We implemented a series of measures to serve the people, cancelled the administrative examination and approval procedures for the storage of ashes, simplified the procedures, implemented the location selection service, and established a business office in the North Street of the urban area. It broadens the field of funeral services and explores the future direction of funeral development. We vigorously carried out the flower memorial ceremony of "breaking the feudal superstition, getting rid of the funeral conventions and customs, and establishing a new style of sacrificial civilization in the new century".
In order to meet the needs of the development of market economy and better serve the broad masses of the people, in 2001, we took the lead in trying out the ecological green funeral tree funeral. It organically combines the harmonious development of city and environment, and becomes the symbol of urban civilization. The development of tree burials perfectly combines the traditional funeral culture with the environmental protection consciousness, and realizes the environmental protection concept of "the soul of trees, the blessing of posterity, the peace of the earth, and the trees forever". In order to meet the needs of the broad masses of people, our garden has been carefully selected and repaired, and has opened up four tree burial areas, namely, meritorious area, area 1, area 2 and area 3.
Meritorious area: located on the side of the solemn main tomb area. It is adjacent to the Han Baiyu tombs of seven martyrs, including Liu tianzhang, the early leader of the party in our province, and Xu Fanting, the famous patriotic general of the whole country. Evergreen pine and cypress and Platycladus orientalis have been growing for more than 50 years. The scope of burial here is limited to those who have made outstanding contributions to the socialist construction. Other tree burial areas: Platycladus orientalis, Sabina chinensis, trees nearly 30 years old.
The business hall, located in the center of the cemetery, was built in 1975 as a comprehensive business hall.
