Kaishan temple is located in the northeast corner of the old city site of Gaobeidian City, commonly known as Dongda temple. It was built in the Tang Dynasty. Most of the original buildings have been destroyed, but now there are only Tianwang hall and Daxiong hall. The hall was built in Liao Dynasty, with 5 rooms wide and 3 rooms deep, and 13.19 meters high. The column network has obvious lateral feet and rising, and the stigmas are rounded. The material is strong, the eaves are far-reaching, and the whole roof is flat. The column network in the hall is varied, with a width of 25.8 meters. However, there are only four columns in the hall, and the space is open. This is the method of reducing columns and shifting columns to meet the needs of many groups of images, such as Tantric Guanyin and eight vajras. The purpose is to expand the vision of worship. Cultural relics protection

In 1996, it was listed as the fourth batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council.
Renovation design
In recent years, Gaobeidian City has commissioned relevant units to complete the electronic topographic map drawing within 1.5 square kilometers with Kaishan temple as the center, and commissioned the Provincial Institute of ancient architecture to carry out the renovation design of the temple. It took eight years and invested 4.8 million yuan. After the renovation, the main hall of Kaishan temple is solemn and grand. The color paintings, murals and Buddha statues in the hall are superb.
