Site of firearm camp
Firearm camp is located in the north of indigo factory in Haidian District. It was built in 1770, the 35th year of Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. It is the place where the officers and soldiers of the eight banners of the firearm battalion jointly operate and perform martial arts. The firearm battalion is specialized in manufacturing shells, gunpowder and various kinds of firearm needed in combat. It also exercises bow and arrow, gun and gun techniques at ordinary times, and undertakes the task of guarding the capital.
brief introduction
The firearm camp is a rectangle, about four Li long from north to South and one li long from east to west. It is an independent area with walls and gates. Five horizontal streets were built in the camp to separate the flag camps. There are five divisions in each division, each of which is responsible for government affairs, economy, household archives, money and grain, and business affairs. Yingcheng street and some old camp houses still exist, which are important material materials for studying the history of Manchuria Eight Banners in Qing Dynasty.
