China National Radio is the national radio station of the people's Republic of China and one of the most important and influential media in China. The predecessor of the Central People's broadcasting station is China's first radio station, Yan'an Xinhua radio station. Yan'an Xinhua radio station was born in Yan'an, the holy land of Chinese revolution, on December 30, 1940. On March 25, 1949, Yan'an Xinhua radio station (renamed as Shanbei Xinhua radio station after its withdrawal from Yan'an) began broadcasting in Beiping, using the call sign of Beiping Xinhua radio station. On December 5, 1949, it was officially named the Central People's radio station.
