The beautiful moon lake scenic spot in Ningbo and several courtyard walls beside the Pingqiao River are surrounded by Ningbo clothing Museum, the first clothing Museum in China. In the Maibu clothing Museum, the theme of cloth and Chen's original textile clothing of Hemudu people 7000 years ago shows the evolution of clothing from the pre Qin period, the Tang, song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties to the Republic of China. While taking history as the preface, it also selects the lost historical scenes full of life atmosphere, such as bridal chamber candles, Five Dynasties together, weaving and embroidery, tailoring workshops and so on. Based on this, the museum introduces a social group, Ningbo Red Band Tailors, which has made an important contribution to the formation and development of modern Chinese clothing. Over the past two centuries, they have made unremitting efforts, from Yokohama port to learn arts, Shanghai beach to become famous, three eastern provinces to expand, Tianjin weichengxiong, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to Beijing city to win glory, Western aid and Sanjiangkou contribution. They have built eight milestones that Ningbo people are proud of, and created "five firsts" in China's clothing industry. The museum is tireless in exploration and innovation. In the modern museum, you can enjoy the industrialization process of Ningbo clothing market and the famous factories, celebrities, famous brands and famous products. It's a perfect match. Wandering in the clothing Museum, it seems to enter a palace of clothing culture.

Collection
Stepping into the preface hall of the clothing Museum, you will see a mural depicting the 5000 years of Ningbo clothing. More than 100 characters, colorful and lifelike. Enter the first exhibition hall - Chinese modern clothing. This paper describes the Qing Dynasty clothing of the last territory of feudal society in China by using the original Qing Dynasty dragon robes, armor, official clothing and life woman clothing. Then from the revolution of 1911 to the Republic of China clothing and Shanghai Fashion Center, Ningbo clothing. Two historical scenes of restoration: the wedding house and Shoutang in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, the clothing from the 1950s to the 1990s, as well as the local cloth, sewing basket and cutting Book accompanied by typical clothing in various periods, including the audio, video equipment and communication tools that have spread fashion since the 1980s. Men and women, young and old, gaze at the clothes they wore in those years, and think of the costumes of all ages since the founding of the people's Republic of China. The second exhibition hall is the entrepreneurial history of Ningbo Hongbang tailors. The exhibition hall is towering and magnificent, showing a clear context. The first thing that catches our eyes is the clothing shop of Cixi (today's Cicheng) tailors in the Qing Dynasty, which made official and casual clothes in the ancient capital of Beijing. Then the topic turned to the whole process of the Red Band Tailors, starting from the Fenghua River, becoming famous in Japan, Shanghai, and expanding various port cities. There are five historical scenes designed here: apprenticeship, the rise of the red gang, the production of Chinese tunic, the establishment of a suit school and the support of the May 30th Movement. The characterization, interior furnishings and historical background of each scene are carefully studied. This paper reveals the hard work of the old generation of the red gang in their studies, the hard won business start and the unremitting struggle of keeping their business. It also interprets the strong patriotism of the little people at the bottom of the old society, who are angry to strive for strength, change their fate, and recover their rights and advocate domestic products. In more than 160 years of struggle, Hong Bang's famous stores, famous teachers and famous products have emerged one after another, with attractive performance. Indeed, the red gang started to make Zhongshan suits for Dr. Sun Yat sen in the early 20th century and made suits for three generations of central leaders in the 1950s. That brilliant achievement is admirable. Wang tingmiao, manager of Hongdu clothing store in Yinzhou, is the record book for the central leadership to make clothes. The gifts given to Wang tingmiao by Deng Xiaoping, Deng Yingchao and Sihanouk are particularly eye-catching. While carrying forward the spirit of Hongbang, the second exhibition hall introduces the achievements of Ningbo ShangBang leading China's modern clothing industry under the influence of Hongbang. It also sets aside an area of 10 square meters to broadcast Hongbang's World Heritage Application TV, carry out customized business of suits, and take samples, cuff samples, cashmere, ready-made clothes and so on. On the second floor, there are two exhibition halls, one is Chinese minority clothing, the other is Ningbo clothing and international exchanges. A wide range of domestic and international ethnic costumes are combined with style photos, models and silicone images, which is eye opening. There are more than 400 precious cultural relics, such as China's earliest charcoal irons and hand-held sewing machines, as well as full and accurate text and picture materials in the museum. The museum is known by experts as a "treasure book" to interpret the changes of Chinese clothing culture.
Development history
Ningbo clothing museum was officially established on October 13, 1998, during the second international clothing festival in Ningbo. It was funded by a business enterprise in Yinzhou District. The site of the museum is in the market of the business enterprise and is a part of the business enterprise culture. It is also the first clothing Museum in China.
Ningbo, as the hometown of "Red Band Tailors" in the history of China's garment industry, has the reputation of "clothing city" today. Shanshan, Youngor, Romon, Yixiu, laok and so on have become well-known brands familiar to Chinese people.
However, Ningbo clothing Museum, which is located in the suburbs of commercial enterprises, is mixed with the market. The venue area is small, and it is far away from the city. The audience is scarce, which is not conducive to the development of the clothing Museum. With the consent of the then Ningbo Municipal Party committee and government, Ningbo clothing Museum moved to the Yuehu scenic spot in the center of Ningbo City, making full use of a 3600 square meter building in Baokui lane of the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China as the exhibition hall of the clothing Museum, which opened for the second time in early 2000. At this time, Ningbo clothing museum was registered and approved as a private museum by Ningbo Civil Affairs Bureau, with a small amount of funding from the government, supplemented by clothing enterprises.
With the growth of the whole social economy, the original funds have been difficult to maintain the normal operation of the museum, and the follow-up development is very difficult. In 2006, with the approval of Yinzhou District government, it was decided to transform the private Ningbo clothing Museum into a state-owned Ningbo clothing Museum. All funds were allocated by Yinzhou District Finance, and the administrative business was under the jurisdiction of Yinzhou District culture, broadcasting, press and Publication Bureau. And decided to move to Yinzhou District. In August 2009, the new Ningbo clothing museum with an investment of more than 12 million yuan was completed in Wandi village, Xiaying street, Yinzhou District. After two months of intensive decoration and exhibition, Ningbo clothing Museum officially opened on October 23, 2009. This is the third time the museum has opened. It also marks the end of private Ningbo clothing Museum and the birth of a new state-owned Ningbo clothing Museum!
Since then, Ningbo clothing Museum has entered the normal development track.
Focusing on the history of Chinese clothing, the museum focuses on the history of Red Band Tailors in the past 100 years, and makes a good interpretation of the formation and development history of Chinese modern clothing. The intangible cultural heritage of Zhejiang Province - "red gang tailoring skills" is the focus of this museum.
