The Catholic Church was founded in 1932, funded by the Vatican and the Holy See. The church is 15 meters high with three front rooms, 17 meters wide and 21 meters deep. There is a cross on the top of the gate, with the word "Catholic Church" under it, and a plum shaped round window in the middle. Stone wood reinforced concrete mixed structure, herringbone roof truss, wood purlin rafters, canopy dome type, a total of 12 windows on the left and right sides, the back hall square roof, a pair of Baogu stone on both sides of the gate, with a construction area of 600 square meters. It was renovated in 1996 for the Spanish Gothic architectural style of the Renaissance in the 15th century. On the right side of the church, there is a church building for the clergy. It is listed as the key cultural relics protection units in Zhejiang Province and the Sixth Batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
Ningbo Catholic Church
The old Bund Catholic Church in Ningbo is located in the north of Xinjiang bridge in Ningbo. It was built in 1872. In 1899, the clock tower was added. The whole building is composed of church, bell tower and side house. The model has a typical Roman Gothic style. It has important historical, cultural and artistic values. It is a state-level excellent modern building and the Sixth Batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

Architectural history
Catholicism has been introduced into Ningbo for more than 350 years. In 1628, a Portuguese missionary (unknown name) came to Ningbo to teach. Six years later, an Italian named Lillian preached in Yin District. In 1648, the Italian Wei Jitai established a Catholic Church in Ningbo, which was soon destroyed by the Qing army. In 1713, Guo Zhongchuan, a legal person, bought land in yaohang street of Ningbo to rebuild the Catholic Church. When Yongzheng ascended the throne, he destroyed the church and killed the believers, which severely hit the Catholic Church.
In the first year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty (1851), Gu Fangji, the Roman missionary extension committee, took over the post of Zhejiang educational administration in Ningbo. Since then, there has been a bishop in Ningbo. In the third year of Xianfeng, the church was rebuilt at the original site of yaohang street, but it was rebuilt the next year. Ten years later (1860) it was rebuilt, and the clock tower was added in 1868. In 1872, the Catholic Church on the North Bank of the Yangtze River was built by the French bishop Su of Zhejiang diocese. In 1899, the clock tower was added.
Architectural features

It is the representative work of Catholic Church Architecture in Zhejiang Province, and was identified as the national key cultural relics protection unit in 2006.
Fire incident
At 0:48 a.m. on July 28, 2014, a fire broke out in the Catholic Church, a national cultural relic protection unit located in the old Bund of Jiangbei District, Ningbo. After Ningbo fire brigade received the alarm, 11 fire engines from 4 squadrons in Jiangbei and the urban area and more than 50 police officers rushed to the scene to put out the fire.
According to the scene investigation, the fire occurred in the main church with one floor brick and wood structure of the church building group, but the auxiliary building group did not. At about 2:00, the open fire was basically put out, and at 3:16, the on-site disposal was completed. The actual fire area of this accident is about 500 square meters, no casualties. At present, the cause of the fire is under investigation. After receiving the alarm, the command center immediately dispatched 13 fire engines and more than 70 police forces from Tianyi and secret service squadrons in Jiangbei and urban areas to the scene for disposal.
