Tianshengqiao scenic spot in Fuping is a national geopark and National Forest Park. Located in Zhujiaying village, Dongxiaguan Township, Fuping County, Baoding City, Hebei Province. Since its development in 1999, after several years of infrastructure construction, the National Geopark was named by the Ministry of land and resources in December 2001 and successfully opened in September 2004. It is composed of Zhujiaying Tianshengqiao Waterfall Scenic Area and Longquanguan scenic area.

Development history

As early as 2.8 billion years ago, the Fuping area was once an ocean, in which 8000-10000 meters thick mud, iron sand, lime and other sediments were deposited. The 2.8 billion year Fuping movement made the original sedimentary rocks fold and metamorphose, forming deep metamorphic rocks and migmatites, and the crust rose to land.

The Luliang movement of 1.8 billion years ago formed a unified platform foundation between Fuping and the whole North China.

Due to the rise and fall of the earth's crust for many times and the frequent advance and retreat of sea water, Fuping area and the whole North China rose to land together until 440 million years ago. During the Himalayan and neotectonic movement, the area was subjected to the northward compression of the Indian plate, strong uplift and fault block movement, resulting in the towering of strange peaks, jagged rocks, deep valleys, clear streams, high waterfalls, luxuriant trees and fragrant flowers and plants.

Two geological wonders, Tianshengqiao, the largest metamorphic rock in China, and the largest waterfall group in North China, have been formed.
