Yanyan

Yanyan, named after the colony of swiftlets, is the only habitat and nest producing area of swiftlets in southern China. Yanyan cave is 660 meters long. The valley and nine streams in the mountain converge. The cave flows westward and runs through it. The top of the cave is arched and the journey is more than 2000 meters. The stalactites, pillars, stalagmites and stone curtains in the cave are like Yushu, like ice flowers, exquisite as carving, and strange.

Every year on the sixth day of the sixth month of the sixth lunar month, it is the local farmers' custom "rock playing Festival", now known as "swallow Festival", during which tens of thousands of tourists from home and abroad come to visit. The spectacular and thrilling scenes of thousands of swallows coming out of their caves, thousands of swallows returning to their nests, people taking out their nests flying over the cliff and walking along the wall, and the gathering of stone pagodas, as well as folk art performances such as "expensive children's play" make visitors marvel.

Yanyan

Yanyan scenic spot is located in Qiaotou town, southwest of HUAIJI County, 27 kilometers away from the county. The scenic spot is composed of more than 360 stone peaks with different appearances and more than 170 caves with different sizes. It is a typical karst landform and is known as "xiaoyangshuo".

There are beautiful peaks, peculiar shapes and unique landscapes. There are camel peak, double milk peak, crown mountain, Yuanyang stone, orangutan moon, mountain turtle and other landscape. Its caves are also very strange, with Yanyan, wind tunnel, Chaoyan and Heiyan (the paradise of today's world) as the representative caves. In addition, caves such as Wuyan, hongyueyan, dizhaiyan, tanpangyan and Lianyan also have their own characteristics. It can be described as a "natural cave Museum".

It is one of the few places inhabited by swiftlets in inland China. It is the most charming scenic spot in the scenic spot and the most spectacular one in the caves.

Legend of immortals

In the cave, the winding paths lead to seclusion. Stalagmites, stone pillars, stone bells, stone men, stone horses and stone lions are either lying down or hanging down or standing up, which is lifelike. There are fifty-six scenes, such as general riding white horse, Liang Zhu hand in hand, three younger sisters singing, Guanyin sitting lotus, Baoya reflection, monk chanting scriptures, nuns in the nunnery. These scenic spots are reflected in the stream, and they are even more beautiful and imaginative. Once upon a time, there were Liqin temple, Wenchang Pavilion and liusanmei temple in the cave. It is said that the singer, sister Liu, lived in the cave for many years in order to escape the persecution of the landlord's old fortune and sang here every day. According to folklore, the third sister Liu was promoted to immortality here, and her incarnation became the scenic spot of "three sisters singing".

Cave creatures

When tourists get close to the cave entrance, they can see the Golden Swallow flying up and down, and the shadow of the swallow is graceful; when they enter the cave, the group of swallows dance like snow, but none of them fly low or land to look for food, which is very puzzling. According to research, it turns out that the Golden Swallow is different from the common mud swallow, with its unique physiological characteristics: bright yellow feather, red mouth and claws, long wings, short legs and feet, and long wings to hit the ground if it takes off on the flat ground. Therefore, we can't take off on the flat ground, so we have to use the high cliff edge to glide. The swiftlet is a national protected animal and cannot be caught. The local people's government has taken measures to protect the swiftlet.

Features of scenic spots

There are thousands of scenes in the cave. Tens of thousands of golden swallows live in the cave. Every year, on the sixth day of June, HUAIJI swallow Festival is held. Thousands of tourists go to see the scenery at the bridgehead. Local people climb the cave to pick up the bird's nest, which is called "the first wonder in the world". The sixth day of the sixth lunar month is a good day for Yanyan to pick up Yanyan, sing songs between men and women, and set up a shed to sing opera. To Yanyan, head surging. Looking around, you can see that the entrance of the cave is big and spacious, and the stone bridge flows slowly through the rock. Stone pillars, stone curtains, stalagmites and stone milk make up many landscapes, such as "general riding", "three younger sisters singing" and so on. On the same day, local young men and women, dressed up in disguise, "white horse general" and "three sisters of the Liu family" let go of their singing voices and sang to each other across the peaks. On the sixth day of June, Yanyan is the most attractive place for tourists. I've heard about the scene for a long time, and witnessed it on the spot. It's really breathtaking: the bird picker is naked, wearing shorts, and climbing bamboo pole. He first reaches the rock waist, stops for a moment, steadies his steps, puts his hands around the bamboo board fixed with the rock wall, and climbs up step by step, 50 or 60 meters above the ground. When they reach the hole on the wall, they drill in and take out the swallow's nest; their companions on the top of the rock use silk ropes to put down the wire mesh, so that the swallow pickers can put what they get into the net and hang it out of the hole. There are no safety facilities for those who pick the swallow. They only use their amazing skills to climb and dig out the swallow. Their thrilling degree is far better than any acrobatic performance.

Yanyan

Yanyan cave is 66 meters high, 40 meters wide, 900 meters deep and covers an area of 2800 square meters. A clear stream runs through the cave. The length of the stream is more than 660 meters, and the water depth is 3-10 meters. "Yanyan ferry boat" is one of the eight ancient Huaiyang scenery. Yanyan is so magnificent that the famous caves in Guangdong are also rare, so it has the reputation of "the most strange cave in the world". Since the Ming Dynasty, a large number of swallows have lived here. Now there are hundreds of thousands of golden swallows here, which is a wonder, so it is named. Flying cliff and walking wall

Self driving tour: take Er Guang Expressway to HUAIJI County, then to Qiaotou (Ningdong), about 2 hours. In view of the poor section from Dagang to Qiaotou (Ningdong) in HUAIJI County, it is suggested to go through YONGGU town to Qiaotou.

Provincial bus: take a bus from the provincial bus station or Jiaokou bus station in Guangzhou to Huaicheng in HUAIJI, and take a minibus from Chengnan bus station in Huaicheng to Qiaotou town.
