Main attractions
1: Six roads in ancient and modern times
Chaotian gorge can be called the throat of the throat of the Shu Road. It is the only channel connecting the north and the south. The terrain is precipitous and advantaged. For thousands of years, people have left six ancient and modern roads here in order to get through the Shu Road. Therefore, people also call it the Museum of Chinese traffic history. It is an important place to study ancient Chinese traffic. The six roads are as follows: 1. The small path that mountain people walked out of in ancient times. 2. In the pre Qin period, the government advocated the plank road built on the gorge wall. 3. The boat path built by boatman in the gorge. 4. Boat Road on Jialing River. 5. Sichuan Shaanxi highway built in the period of the Republic of China. 6. Baocheng railway tunnel, built in 1950s, is opposite Sichuan Shaanxi highway. Chaotian Mingyue gorge has many historical stories since ancient times due to the importance of terrain, such as Xiaohe nongzhou Mingyue gorge, Lijun Liufang Mingyue gorge, Luyou hunduan Mingyue gorge, zhangxianzhongwei Mingyue gorge, wuxiaoli qingmingyue gorge, etc.
2: Chaotian Mingyue gorge ancient plank road
In addition to Mingyue gorge, Chaotian district also has Qingfeng gorge, Da'an temple, qipanguan, Chibi post, Feixian Pavilion, Longmen Pavilion and other relics and scenic spots. If you have time, you can visit them one by one. Of course, the most important thing is the ancient plank road of Chaotian Mingyue gorge. The ancient plank road is located in the Chaotian Mingyue gorge and the old Sichuan Shaanxi highway passing through the gorge. Now there are only a few remains. Except for the stone holes, many of them are restored after the restoration. Plank road, also known as attic Road, was built by ancient people for the needs of life and war. The ancient Shu Road started from Chengdu. After passing through the precipitous Jianshan mountain and Xiaojianshan mountain, it came to chaotianmingyue gorge, where it really met the "roadblock". No matter what the productivity of ancient times was, we could not build a safe road. To think of Bashu, we must open this road. So our ancestors drilled holes in the cliff and built a plank road. It was only after the northern and Southern Dynasties, when the Tang and Song Dynasties intersected, that the top of the cliff of Mingyue gorge was cut into a narrow path along Chaotian mountain. However, because of the rugged mountain path, steep slope and dangerous road, people are willing to choose the flat and shortcut stack Road. During the period of the Three Kingdoms, Zhuge Liang, for the needs of the war, opened the garret road of Jianmen and repaired the plank road of Mingyue gorge. Only then did he have the story of six expeditions out of Qishan and Northern Expedition to the Central Plains. In the TV series romance of the Three Kingdoms, the scene of burning plank road was shot here. The difficulties and dangers of Mingyue gorge can be seen in the 1930s when the government of the Republic of China built the Sichuan Shaanxi highway. At that time, engineers and technicians tried to find another way around Mingyue gorge, but they failed in the end. They had to dig a grooved road with explosives along the cliff above the ancient plank road of Mingyue gorge and barely passed through the gorge. Now the grooved road is still above Mingyue gorge It is the famous "tiger mouth" highway on the old Sichuan Shaanxi Road, which is quite spectacular and one of the scenic spots of Sichuan Shaanxi highway. This is the source of Li Bai's exclamation that "it's difficult to reach the sky when it's difficult to travel to Sichuan.". Of course, social science and technology are no longer afraid of any obstacles. When mountains open and rivers build bridges, the new Sichuan Shaanxi Expressway goes around Mingyue gorge and becomes a smooth thoroughfare. The Baoji Chengdu Railway also passes over Mingyue gorge, and the ancient plank road becomes a tourist attraction for people to cherish the past and cherish their ancestors. In addition to the Chaotian Mingyue gorge ancient plank road, there is also a famous ancient plank road in Shaanxi Province, namely the Shimen plank road on the famous Baoxie Road, which is located at the foot of cuiyunping mountain at the south end of baogukou Shimen Reservoir, 15 kilometers north of Hanzhong. The existing one was restored in June 1996.

The terrain is steep and advantaged.
15 kilometers below Mingyue gorge, about 10 kilometers away from Nanjin pass, there are strange rocks on both sides of the Strait, waterfalls and springs, which are as powerful as fairy mountains. In particular, there are four strange stones on the top of Xiangbi mountain on the South Bank of the gorge, which are as bright and prominent as the shadow of a lamp. This is the famous Dengying gorge. These four stones are also vivid images of Tang monks and disciples returning from their journey to the west to learn Buddhist scriptures. One is like the monkey king, one is like the pig Bajie, one is like the Tang Sanzang, one is like the sand monk. Guo Moruo wrote such a poem: "Tang Monk's younger martial brother stands at the top of the mountain, the lights and shadows dance together, pigs and monkeys", which clearly shows the scenery and interest of Dengying gorge. On the North Bank of the upper end of Dengying gorge, there is Tianzhu peak, straight peak like a column, towering, rocky and woody. Xue Dong, a poet of the Ming Dynasty, once wrote a poem describing the peak of Tianzhu: "the root is before the judgment of heaven and earth. The winter snow is freezing, the jade shoots are arranged, and the sunset clouds are colorful. Poor Tai Hsieh is always in the ascendant and out of the way, but this mountain does not record the year. "
