The memorial hall of the former site of the all China Federation of trade unions (ACFTU) is a memorial museum built to commemorate the first site of the ACFTU in 1925. Located at 89 Yuexiu South Road (now 93), formerly known as Huizhou guild hall. There is a round arched gate and a carved iron gate in the middle. Entering from the gate is the front yard, on both sides of which are the memorial to Mr. Liao Zhongkai and the memorial to the martyrs of the industrial and agricultural movement. There is a two-story western style house with basement in the middle, with a construction area of 1746 square meters.
Site of the National Trade Union of All China
The former site of ACFTU is the first headquarters of ACFTU after its establishment. It's at 89 Yuexiu South Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou. It was originally Huizhou guild hall and the central workers' headquarters of the Kuomintang. In 1924 and 1925, the all China Federation of trade unions moved here.
During the first Civil Revolutionary War (October 1926), the former site of the all China Federation of trade unions moved from Guangzhou to Wuhan. Su Zhaozheng, Li Lisan and Liu Shaoqi were dispatched by the Communist Party of China to lead the workers' movement.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China approved the construction of the memorial hall of the former site of the all China Federation of trade unions in Hankou in 1958, which was completed in 1963.
The origin of history
The all China Federation of trade unions (ACFTU) is referred to as the "all China Federation of trade unions". Founded on May 1, 1925. At that time, the second national labor conference was held in Guangzhou. More than 30 resolutions on political struggle, economic struggle, and the union of workers and peasants were adopted. The newly established all China Federation of trade unions is headed by Lin Weimin and Liu Shaoqi. "Quanzong" was the center of the national workers' movement led by the CPC during the first Civil Revolutionary War. It played an important role in the development of trade union organizations, leading the workers' movement, unifying the revolutionary base in Guangdong and the northern expedition.
The emblem of the Chinese Trade Union (right) is composed of the Chinese characters "Zhong" and "Gong", which are overlapped in a circle by artistic modeling. A circle line is added to the two characters to symbolize the unity of the Chinese trade union and the Chinese working class. The standards for making the emblem shall be prescribed by the all China Federation of trade unions.

The former site is composed of two western style buildings, facing north and south, with simple and elegant appearance, covering an area of 1507 square meters.
Establishment of headquarters

The first headquarters of all China Federation of trade unions is located at 93 Yuexiu South Road, Guangzhou. It used to be "Huizhou guild hall". In 1924, it was the central workers' headquarters of the Kuomintang. In 1925, the all China Federation of trade unions moved here.
On May 7, 1925, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the second national labor conference was held in Guangzhou. It was decided to establish the all China Federation of trade unions. Lin Weimin and Liu Shaoqi were elected chairman and vice chairman, and Su Zhaozheng, Deng Zhongxia, Li Lisan and Li Sen were elected executive members. After the founding of the general assembly of the Communist Party of China, it became the center of leading the national workers' movement during the great revolution.
In January 1927, the general office of CPC moved to Hankou, which was changed into the general office in Guangzhou and closed in April. The former site is a three story building. The first floor is the auditorium and office of Guangzhou workers' Congress, and the second and third floors are the auditorium and office of the general assembly.
In 1958, the site was restored and turned into a memorial hall. In May 1926, the third National Labor Conference and the second Guangdong farmers' Congress were jointly held in Guangzhou. The meeting decided to build "monument to the martyrs of the industrial and Agricultural Movement" and "monument to the place where Mr. Liao Zhongkai died" on the left and right sides of the front yard of the house.
In memory of Mr. Liao Zhongkai, who was assassinated here on the morning of August 25, 1925 for attending the executive committee meeting of the Central Committee of the Kuomintang, and the martyrs who died in the workers' and peasants' movement.
Funding for repairs
Since the founding of the people's Republic of China, the people's government has repeatedly allocated funds to renovate the old site and turned it into a memorial hall. It was opened to the masses in October 1959. In July 1962, it was announced as a cultural relic protection unit in Guangdong Province. During the "Cultural Revolution", the memorial hall was forced to close and its former site was destroyed. In 1984, the government again allocated funds for the comprehensive renovation of the old site, and on May 1, 1985, the 60th anniversary of the founding of the National People's Congress, the site was reopened to receive visitors.
In January 1988, it was announced as a national key cultural relics protection unit.

In October 1926, the Federation of trade unions of Hubei Province was formally established, and the machine was set up on the left building. In February 1927, the all China Federation of trade unions moved to Wuhan and worked in the right building.
In July 1927, it was the center of leading the national workers' movement. Su Zhaozheng, Li Lisan, Liu Shaoqi and other famous leaders of the Chinese workers' movement worked here.

The all China Federation of trade unions (ACFTU), the leading body of the all China Federation of trade unions, has formulated and passed the constitution of ACFTU, and elected 25 executive members, including Lin Weimin, Liu Shaoqi, Deng Zhongxia, Su Zhaozheng, Li Lisan, Li Sen and Liu Ersong. Lin Weimin is the chairman of the Executive Committee, Liu Shaoqi is the vice chairman, and Deng Zhongxia is the Secretary General. The general office has a secretariat, a general affairs office, an organization department, a publicity department, a publicity and Education Committee, a supervisory committee and other organizations, and Liu Shaoqi is in charge of the daily work.
At the end of September 1925, the Central Department of the Kuomintang moved from there to the old provincial assembly. In October, the all China Federation of trade unions moved to the second floor of the house from the temporary club on Dade road. The offices of all departments are separated by boards. The conference room, the publicity department and the supervisory committee are in the middle, the Organization Department, the Secretariat and Liu Shaoqi's office are in the south, the publicity and Education Committee is in the north, and the Hong Kong Federation of trade unions, which was set up after the strike, also works here. The first floor is still used by Guangzhou workers' Congress.
After its establishment, the all China Federation of trade unions (ACFTU) led the anti imperialist May 30th Movement in Shanghai and the strike between the provinces and Hong Kong, vigorously developed trade union organizations in various regions, unified the workers' movements in Guangdong and Hong Kong, and supported the national government in unifying the revolutionary base areas in Guangdong and the northern expedition.
After the national revolutionary army occupied Wuhan, in order to adapt to the new revolutionary situation, in February 1927, the all China Federation of trade unions moved north to Hankou, which was changed into the Guangzhou Office of the all China Federation of trade unions.
