Qiangang ancient village

Qiangang ancient village has a history of more than 800 years. There are more than 900 houses in the village. Some of them were built in the Song Dynasty, and most of them were built in the Ming Dynasty. Most of the people in the village are descendants of Lu Xiufu, the Prime Minister of the Southern Song Dynasty. There is a ancestral hall, nine academies and four watchtowers in the village. The ancestral hall is called Guangyu ancestral hall.

Qiangang is 14 kilometers southwest of Conghua County. It belongs to Taiping town. At the end of Song Dynasty, Qian family moved here to settle down, so it was named. Qiangang ancient village covers a large area, with more than 900 houses and more than 4000 people. Most of the villagers are surnamed Lu, while a few are surnamed Shen.

The ancient lanes are paved with pebbles, and most of the existing houses were built in the Ming Dynasty. The ancient village is now inhabited by few people. The alleys are many, deep, circuitous and complex, but they are not messy or pieced together. On the contrary, the scattered old people are mixed with one or two ancestral halls and scattered stone wells in the middle, giving people a sense of retrospection.

There is a three door archway in front of the East gatehouse. The archway goes in and out of the ancient village. There are four gatehouses in the ancient village: Qiting gate in the East, Zhenhua gate in the west, Zhenming gate in the South and yinglongmen gate in the north. This gate is the most distinctive because its attic is higher than other gatehouses. The village's periphery still has the fragmentary old wall to connect with the four gatehouses. Zhengnan lane is the central lane running through the north and south of the old village, and the main village road goes around the whole village.

The ancient village is surrounded by a beautiful environment. There are ponds in the East, South and West. There are many kinds of fruit trees near the ponds, among which Nuomici is the best. Litchi mature season, the tree "flying flame to fly", the environment is quite beautiful.

Walk along Zhengnan lane, which runs across the north and south of the village, to Guangyu temple, which is located in the center of the village. Lu Jia and Lu Xiufu, the ancestors of Lu family, are worshipped in the ancestral hall. It is said that the ancestral hall was built in 1406, the same year as the Palace Museum in Beijing. The beam structure base in the ancestral hall is believed to be modeled on the lotus seat of Hui style residence, which combines the architectural style of the north and has a unique charm.
