Main attractions
Laifeng Temple
On the mountain is Laifeng temple, the most famous Buddhist resort in Tengchong. It was built in Nanzhao period of Tang Dynasty. It was formerly called Longfeng temple. It was renamed Laifeng temple in Ming Dynasty. It was destroyed in Xiantong war in Qing Dynasty. The existing temple was rebuilt in 1887.
The architecture of Laifeng temple is elegant and magnanimous, the garden is exquisite and quiet, the Buddha statue in Daxiong hall is merciful and solemn, and the Jade Buddha Hall has white jade Reclining Buddha and eighteen Arhats presented by overseas Chinese in Myanmar, which has the characteristics of Southern Buddhism. On the left side of the main hall is the Sakyamuni Buddha Hall, where the white jade statue of Sakyamuni Buddha is worshipped. On the left side of the main hall are four simulated tall buildings in the ancient city of Tengyue.
Laifeng temple has been repaired in the past dynasties. During the Anti Japanese War, Tengchong was once occupied by the Japanese army, and Laifeng temple was destroyed by the fire. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, it was rebuilt. Later, in order to meet the growing cultural needs of the people, it was decided to turn the park into Laifeng Park and allocate funds for renovation and expansion. Through the South Lane of Tengchong City, enter the foot of Laifeng mountain, and slowly go up along the stone steps. You can see the pines and cypresses standing on both sides, covered with shade, and a cool air coming. On the grass on the left side of the road, there is a small colorful Pavilion. On the front of the pavilion, there is a couplet hanging: the big wing is 90 thousand li from the sky; the long pine is 3000 Zhang from the ground. After reading this book, a wave of upward pride arises spontaneously. Along the winding path, you can see the white walls, yellow tiles and cornices in the shade. This is Laifeng temple.
On the stone ridge of Yuetai in front of the temple, with the Han white jade stone peculiar to Tengchong as the bottom, four characters of "sword sweeps wind and smoke" written by Deng Zilong are newly engraved. The square of the characters is about 1 meter. The strokes are powerful and heroic. When you enter the gate of the temple, you can see that the stone carvings written by celebrities inside and outside the province are embedded on the wall of the ring. Most of them are from the "wind wing garden stone carvings" made by Li Gengen in the Republic of China. The main hall of the temple is spacious and dignified. The roof is decorated with two dragons playing with pearls, and the hall wall is decorated with two phoenixes spreading their wings. This is the history museum. It centers on the historical figures who have made outstanding contributions to the development of Tengchong for more than a thousand years, including Du guangtingzi, Mu Shi, Wang Ji, Chen Yongbin, Deng Zilong, Yang Zhenhong, Zhang Wenguang, and other important events in history. It outlines the historical development of Tengchong with portraits, rubbings and historical records. Together with this, a museum of cultural relics is set up behind the history museum to display various valuable cultural relics of Tengchong, and to show the historical origin of Tengchong from another side. On the south side of the museum, a small pool is located in the central part of the patio. There is a hexagonal pavilion beside the pool, in which a sculpture with the theme of Tengchong's beautiful folk stories is proposed. The rockeries built by the pond are all made of red volcanic rocks unique to Tengchong. They cross the small bridge on the pond, drill into the "mountain" cave, and climb up to the pavilion on the top of the "mountain". The spring on the "mountain" is flowing and clanging, which has the flavor of "ancient music of mountains and rivers".
White jade ancestral hall
Outside the garden on the right side of the main hall, there is the white jade ancestral hall. It was built in 1821 A.D. in the first year of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty. After the war of Xiantong, it was rebuilt in the seventh year of Guangxu. It is a place for the colleagues in the jewelry and jade industry to worship their grandmaster Baiyu. The white jade immortal is the deification of Bian he, the jade genius of Chu state in the spring and Autumn period by the jewelry and jade industry of Tengyue. It is said that Bian he got a jade Pu and twice presented it to the king of Chu. Both of them were regarded as ordinary stones. For the crime of deceiving the king, his feet were cut off one after another. When King Wen of Chu ascended the throne, Bian and baopu wept under the Jingshan mountain. Then King Wen of Chu ordered someone to cut Pu open. It turned out to be a beautiful jade, which was later known as "heshibi". Tengyue jade industry regards Bian he as the real person and ancestor of white jade, which shows the long history of Chinese jade culture.
The famous plaques of Laifeng Mountain Gate and jade Buddha Hall were written by the late Zhao Puchu, former vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, chairman of the Chinese Buddhist Association and a famous calligrapher. They are rare in China. The world says that "Yunnan camellia is the best in the world", but many people don't know that Tengchong is the hometown of Yunnan camellia. In the tea garden of Laifeng mountain, there are more than 100 precious varieties and more than 2500 camellia. At the turn of winter and spring, camellia is in full bloom and colorful.
Fengling tower
Fengling tower is located on the top of the mountain. It was built in 1827 and destroyed during the Anti Japanese war. Around the base of the tower are the remains of Japanese War fortifications, which are the key cultural relics protection units at the county level. The pagoda is facing the central axis of the Confucian temple. The body of the pagoda is like a pen, and the panchi is like an inkstone. If there is a pen and an inkstone, there will be a large number of talents. Therefore, Fengling pagoda is called Wenbi pagoda among the people. Wenbi tower has become a symbol of Tengchong people's longing for wenyunchanglong. When the Chinese expeditionary army besieged Tengchong City, laifengshan was the most important peripheral defensive position of the Japanese army. Here and the county are horns for each other. If they don't come to Fengshan, the Japanese army can only shrink into the city and wait to die, so the battle for coming to Fengshan is very fierce. The Chinese expeditionary force, with the strength of two divisions and the cooperation of the Allied air force, won the Japanese position after three days of fierce fighting and completed the encirclement of the county. In the 1990s, with the efforts of people from all walks of life in Tengchong, a new Pagoda with more spectacular shape and more complete functions was rebuilt at the site of the old pagoda
