Sun Yat Sen College of University of Electronic Science and technology was formerly Sun Wen College of Sun Yat sen University, which was established in 1986. In 1995, the college was established independently and renamed as Sun Yat Sen college. It implements the management system of co management of provinces and cities, with the city as the main body. In 2002, the University changed its name to Zhongshan College of University of Electronic Science and technology. It was jointly built by Zhongshan Municipal People's government and University of Electronic Science and technology. The president responsibility system under the leadership of the Council was implemented. The mayor of Zhongshan Municipal People's government and the president of University of Electronic Science and technology served as the chairman. The University of Electronic Science and technology, one of the organizers of the University, is a "985" and "211" key university directly under the Ministry of education.

Zhongshan College of University of Electronic Science and technology is the highest institution of learning in Zhongshan City, the hometown of great people. It is located at the foot of Lianfeng mountain in Zhongshan City with beautiful environment. It is a "garden type unit" in Zhongshan City, known as "garden university in the center of the city", and an ideal place for students to pursue further study.

The school adheres to the principle of "education oriented, concise characteristics, mechanism innovation and scientific development", takes personnel training as the center, and constantly enhances the ability of scientific and technological innovation and service to local areas. In the past five years, the school has accumulated a team of teachers with high professional titles and academic qualifications. Among the full-time teachers, 42% have the title of deputy senior or above, and a number of outstanding teachers from southern Guangdong, outstanding talents from Zhongshan and outstanding teachers from Zhongshan have emerged. The university has established one State Key Laboratory (Zhongshan branch of State Key Laboratory of electronic thin film and integrated devices), two provincial scientific research platforms (Xiangshan Culture Research Base in Guangdong Province and Sun Yat Sen legal thought research base in Guangdong Province); Seven municipal scientific research platforms (Municipal Public Laboratory of embedded system, municipal food safety research center, Municipal Institution Innovation Research Institute, Municipal Economic Research Institute, municipal financial research institute, Municipal Social Development Research Institute, Municipal Local Legislative Research Institute) and several university level research platforms such as Regional Economic Research Institute, Financial Research Institute, Lingnan and Xiangshan Cultural Research Institute, and scientific and Technological Information Research Institute. The Academy of art and design has cooperated with Jinma Amusement Machine Co., Ltd. to build Zhongshan College of University of Electronic Science and technology - Jinma animation amusement technology center, the Academy of computer science and technology and Zhida Automation Co., Ltd. to build a number of school enterprise cooperation platforms, such as embedded laboratory, all education information technology industry university research combination demonstration base. In December 2015, the school led "Zhongshan Industrial Technology Research Institute" was officially established. Over the past five years, the university has undertaken more than 800 scientific research projects, including 10 National Natural Science Foundation projects and 21 Provincial Natural Science Foundation projects. The total annual scientific research funds are over 10 million.

The university has a modern library with a collection of more than 2.2 million books, more than 90 high-level teaching laboratories and a total value of more than 90 million yuan of teaching and scientific research equipment, high-standard student apartments and canteens, all dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, and well-equipped gymnasiums, sports fields and elegant campus landscape provide students with a good environment for studying.

（4） Excellent quality of personnel training

The school combines the project of "strengthening the school through innovation" with the project of "teaching quality", and the quality of personnel training is constantly improved. The major of communication engineering and computer science and technology was rated as the characteristic major of Guangdong Province; the major of engineering mechanics was rated as the provincial excellent course; the secondary subject of computer application technology was rated as the characteristic key subject of Guangdong Province; Electronic experimental center, economic and management experimental teaching center, embedded system experimental teaching center, chemistry and biology experimental teaching center were rated as provincial experimental teaching demonstration center; more than 80 projects were approved by national and provincial teaching research and reform projects. In recent years, a number of students have been admitted to Peking University, Fudan University, Sun Yat sen University, University of Electronic Science and technology and other domestic key universities, and some of them have gone abroad for further study.

In 2012, the University and the University of Electronic Science and technology carried out the joint training of graduate students, which further improved the level of school running and the quality of talent training. A total of 103 students have been recruited, and 30 graduate students have successfully graduated from the joint training in two sessions; the university has 7 graduate tutors and 35 associate tutors of the joint training of graduate students. On March 28, 2015, Guangdong postgraduate joint training base (Zhongshan) was officially established in our university.

In the past five years, the university has won more than 1000 awards in academic, science and technology, sports and other competitions. With outstanding achievements in art education, the original dance won the first prize of national college students' art performance, and has been on the stage of CCTV for many times.

The employment rate of graduates has been in the forefront of colleges and universities in Guangdong Province for eight consecutive years. The innovation and entrepreneurship education characterized by "university student incubation base, innovation and entrepreneurship experimental class, entrepreneurship college, and entrepreneurship seed fund" has been highly appreciated and affirmed by the national and provincial authorities. In 2009, the college was rated as "national advanced collective of university employment work" by the Ministry of education, and became the only independent college in China that won this award. In 2015, the school was rated as one of the first batch of "Guangdong innovation and entrepreneurship education demonstration schools".

After nearly 30 years of school running, the university has become one of the best independent colleges in China. It has been rated as "Guangdong Province model school for school management according to law", "national advanced independent college", "Guangdong Province excellent school for comprehensive public security management", and is the first independent college in China to pass ISO9000 quality certification.
