Rizhao vocational and technical college is the first public vocational and technical college in Shandong Province approved by the Ministry of education. It is a National Model Higher Vocational College and the first batch of backbone model vocational and technical colleges in Shandong Province. The college has been successively rated as the technical support unit of the national key promotion project of scientific and technological achievements, the national talent training base in short supply, the national advanced unit of art education, the national educational technology training simulation demonstration construction base, the advanced unit of teaching and education in Shandong Province, the provincial civilized unit, the sunshine overseas education experimental base in Shandong and the high skilled talent identification base in Shandong Province Excellent colleges and universities of talent cultivation level evaluation, double excellent colleges and universities of campus civilization and moral education evaluation, excellent colleges and universities of National Demonstrative Higher Vocational Colleges and universities with typical employment experience of national graduates.

Professor Ding Zhaozhong, Nobel Laureate in physics, and Mr. Xue Rongxing, vice president of Hyundai Motor Group of Korea, served as honorary Dean of the college. Honorary Dean Ding Zhaozhong encouraged our students, "three hundred and sixty line, line out of the champion, read vocational and technical college is also promising, great success!" Excellent conditions for running a school

The college is located in Rizhao, Shandong Province, a charming coastal city and winner of UN Habitat Award. It covers an area of 1352 mu, with a construction area of 462000 square meters, 979 staff and more than 18000 students. The campus is close to the mountains and the sea, the streams pass through the garden, the green belt is long and beautiful, the teaching buildings are novel and modern, the sports venues are scattered everywhere, and the students begin the most beautiful university life here. With a total value of 159 million yuan of teaching instruments and equipment, the college uses information technology to connect the classroom with the world in the advanced multimedia classroom; the 80000 square meter training building has sophisticated training equipment for various majors, which enables students to practice their skills with real knives and guns.

Distinctive school running characteristics

The college adheres to the school running concept of "paying equal attention to theory and practice, integrating technology and humanities", so as to make students become talents and adults. The humanistic quality education mode and professional ability training mode explored by the college have both won the national teaching achievement award. The college has held excellence forum all year round, opened more than 100 elective courses of humanistic quality, and more than 80 student associations have carried out various sports, science and technology, and practical activities, so that students can fully understand the charm of knowledge and the splendor of the University. According to the training goal of quasi professional people, the college implements the teaching mode of integration of teaching, doing and practicing, and combines work with study, so as to improve students' professional practice ability rapidly. New achievements have been added to the student skills competition. In 2015, there were 9 awards in the national competition and 15 awards in the provincial competition. Five majors were shortlisted in the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot projects in China and the whole province.

Excellent teaching staff

The college has a high-level teaching team that loves education and students. 74.7% of the teachers have graduate degrees, and 29.3% of the professors and associate professors. It has built 7 national and provincial teaching teams, with 58 experts who enjoy the special allowance of the State Council, overseas experts of Taishan Scholars, young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions from Shandong Province, and famous teachers at the provincial level. We have employed 427 part-time teachers, including "chief technician" and other enterprise executives and technical experts in Shandong Province, to build a "double teacher" teaching team with college teachers. The college also has foreign teachers from the United States, South Korea, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and other countries, bringing international education concept.

In 2014, the college was awarded the bronze award of Excellence Award for school enterprise cooperation by the World Federation of vocational education institutions. It is the only Chinese college that has won awards in school enterprise cooperation.

Extensive international exchanges

The university has established cooperative relations with more than 50 universities and enterprises in 12 countries and regions, introduced international advanced technology and high-quality education resources, and trained international skilled talents. In cooperation with Hyundai Motor Group of South Korea, he received more than US $1.5 million worth of training vehicles and equipment to jointly establish Hyundai Automobile College; in cooperation with world-famous enterprises such as Hewlett Packard of the United States, Giz of Germany and demage to cultivate talents, and establish training bases for computer software and electromechanical talents respectively.  

Cooperate with South Korea new star university to hold the major of automobile inspection and maintenance technology, and promote the improvement of teaching quality by employing South Korea experts to teach, carrying out students' overseas practical training, organizing students to go to new star University for exchange study, etc. students can achieve "double certificate graduation", and excellent students are preferred to work in South Korean funded enterprises in China;

We have carried out the exchange program with South Korean universities such as National Chiao Tung University and South Korean special university. We have successively selected six groups of 71 students from various majors to exchange and study in South Korean universities, so as to cultivate skilled talents with the integration of language and skills. We have carried out exchange programs with Mingchuan University, Taipei City University of science and technology, Jianguo University of science and technology, Zhongzhou University of science and technology, Shude University of science and technology and other universities in Taiwan. We have selected 76 students to go to Taiwan for more than one semester of exchange study, and invited many experts to teach or hold academic lectures every year. It has been selected as the Chinese project university of "joint training of high-quality skilled and applied talents". The "through train project for upgrading students from overseas" is carried out with 4-year undergraduate universities such as South Korea Renji University and Youshi University. The "3 + 2 mode" is adopted to open up channels for students to upgrade from overseas to undergraduate, master and doctoral.

The college has established an information database of more than 4800 enterprises' employment needs, including a number of world top 500 enterprises and a number of industry development frontier enterprises. College graduates are mainly employed by well-known domestic enterprises, including FAW Volkswagen Co., Ltd., Shanghai Disneyland group, HP, Shagang Group, Haier Group, Lunan Pharmaceutical Group, Tianyuan Construction Group, Marriott International and more than 300 employment bases.
