Baoding University

Baoding university is a school with a history of more than 100 years. It was founded in 1904 and was called "Baoding Junior Normal School". In 1910, it was renamed "Zhili second Junior Normal School", and in 1928, it was renamed "Hebei Provincial Second Normal School". After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was named "Baoding Normal School of Hebei Province". In 1978, it was rebuilt as "Baoding normal college". In 2007, it was upgraded to an ordinary university at the undergraduate level and renamed "Baoding College". In 2011, it was granted the right to confer a bachelor's degree.

The college plans to cover an area of 1220 mu, including 920.2 mu of construction land in phase I and 300 mu of construction land in phase II. 343200 square meters have been completed and another 124000 square meters are under construction.

At present, the college has 26 undergraduate majors, 24 junior college majors, and more than 14500 full-time undergraduate and junior college students.

The college has good conditions for running a school and complete teaching equipment. There are 8 kinds of laboratories in physics, chemistry, biology, resources and environment, modern educational technology, computer and information technology, psychology and language. The total value of teaching instruments and equipment with a unit price of more than 1000 yuan is 87.2137 million yuan, and a Gigabit Campus Network is built. The library has 1.18 million paper documents, 480000 digital books and 1200 periodicals. It has more than 8980 volumes of thread bound ancient books such as the twenty four histories published in the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty (including 8 rare books and 8 rare books, a total of 1428 volumes and 260 volumes), and more than 1000 volumes of precious photocopying materials such as Shenbao and Ta Kung Pao from its inception to the founding of the people's Republic of China. The library of our university has 12 full-text databases, including CNKI academic literature database, New Oriental multimedia learning database, VIP science and technology journal database, National People's Congress copy newspaper materials, scholar's home digital library, etc.

The college has formulated a series of incentive measures to improve the level of teaching and scientific research. Since 2007, the college has added one national excellent resource sharing course, two provincial excellent resource sharing courses, two provincial excellent courses, one provincial teaching team, one provincial experimental teaching demonstration center, three provincial key development disciplines, one provincial comprehensive reform pilot project and one provincial off campus practice education base construction project. The national training program, rural headmaster assistance project, which was undertaken by our college, ranked sixth among 35 training institutions in China after anonymous online evaluation of trainees; the national training program, the off job training program for rural primary and secondary school teachers in Hebei Province, won the first place in Hebei Province in 2013.

Since 2007, it has undertaken 6 national projects and 173 provincial and ministerial projects. A total of 12 monographs, 29 editorials and textbooks, 4 collections of works have been published, 147 works of art have been exhibited, 3 patents have been approved, and 3574 papers have been published, including 78 in three major searches and 878 in core journals. 13 achievements won the Hebei social science outstanding achievement award. The Journal of the college has twice been rated as "national excellent social science journal of colleges and universities" and the column of "Baoding research" has been rated as "the fifth excellent characteristic column of National Social Science Journal".

Over the years, the college attaches great importance to the overall improvement of students' quality while paying attention to teaching work, and has achieved excellent results in various activities held by the state and the province. In the third National College Students' art performance, two programs won the second and third prizes respectively. The film "Milu king" produced by the animation production team of Zhongke Weilie Digital Technology Co., Ltd. with students in our college as the main body has successively won the 13th "Huabiao Award", the 27th "Golden Rooster Award" Nomination award and the first European International stereoscopic film festival "Golden Crystal Award". In the 11th National Art Exhibition, Li Guoqing's works of art department won the nomination award and the silver award of the provincial art exhibition, becoming the first person of this kind of award for fresh graduates in our province. In the past University Games of Hebei Province, the whole team of our college has always been in the first square, with outstanding achievements, and has won the "sports moral fashion award" for many times. In the sixth Hebei dance competition, our students won one first prize, three second prizes and two third prizes. In the first Hebei art exhibition and the first Hebei Youth painting and calligraphy exhibition, our students won two second prizes and three third prizes. In the fifth Wushu competition of Hebei Province, the team of our college won two championships of men's group A and women's group A, and won the first place in 12 individual competitions. The "Mai Lang Fei" supporting education group of our college won the title of "top ten teams" in the "most youthful" 2015 Hebei College Students' summer social practice activities. The college has actively carried out academic exchanges and cooperation with foreign countries. It has successively invited Shi Changxu, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Wang zikun, a famous mathematician, as distinguished professors. It has also invited more than 50 experts and scholars and well-known entrepreneurs from Peking University, Beijing Normal University and LONGJITAIHE Trading Co., Ltd. as visiting professors, Regularly to the school to guide teaching and research work. In June 2015, our choir was appointed by the Ministry of culture to represent our country in the fourth Estonian popular music Chorus Festival, which was highly praised by the local audience and domestic and foreign media.

A hundred years of history has bred Baoding University's unique school-based tradition and profound cultural heritage. Over the past hundred years, Baoding university has trained a large number of outstanding talents for the Chinese revolution and construction. There are more than 60 leading cadres at or above the provincial military level, as well as a number of political, educational, scientific and cultural celebrities, such as the winner of the 2010 national highest science and technology award, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of engineering Shi Changxu, former vice president of Chengyuan, Wang Heshou, former Second Secretary of Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, Tie Ying, former first Secretary of Zhejiang provincial Party committee, Yang Shijie, former deputy director of Organization Department of Central Committee, Zang Boping, former deputy director of Ministry of education, Yang Zejiang, former deputy secretary of Hebei provincial Party committee and director of Hebei Provincial Advisory Committee, Ding Haochuan, former president of Northeast Normal University, etc. At present, school graduates have become the backbone of Baoding's basic education. More than 80% of the principals of primary and secondary schools are graduates of our school.
