Xiamen Institute of technology of Huaqiao University (hereinafter referred to as "Xiamen Institute of technology") is a full-time undergraduate independent college jointly established by Huaqiao University and Fujian Jindi Group Co., Ltd. with the approval of the Ministry of education. Xiamen Institute of technology is located in Jimei Cultural and educational District, Xiamen City, Fujian Province, adjacent to yuanboyuan, mountain and sea, with beautiful scenery. It is located in the University Town, adjacent to Jimei University, Xiamen campus of Huaqiao University, Xiamen Institute of technology and other universities, with a strong academic atmosphere. The campus covers an area of 702 mu, with a planned total construction area of 625000 square meters, a total investment of 1.2 billion yuan, and a planned enrollment of 10000 students. At present, it has completed the construction of 360000 square meters of building area and related supporting facilities such as teaching, living and laboratory. The college has seven departments (Mechanical Engineering Department, electronic information engineering department, civil engineering department, architecture and urban planning department, business department, computer science and Engineering Department, materials science and Engineering Department) and basic science department. At present, Professor Wu Jihuai, member of the Standing Committee of the Party committee, vice president and doctoral supervisor of Huaqiao University, is the Secretary of the Party committee, and Professor Fang Liang, doctoral supervisor of Xi'an Jiaotong University, is the president.

Huaqiao University, directly under the leadership of the overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, is a key comprehensive university of the state and a national base for cultural quality education of college students. The university has a complete school running system with doctoral, master's, bachelor's and preparatory levels, with nearly 100 doctoral and master's programs and 62 undergraduate majors. It has national key disciplines, postdoctoral research mobile station and Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of education, with 10 disciplines including science, engineering, economics, management, law, literature, philosophy, history, agriculture and education. There are 2146 faculty members in the school, including 590 professors and associate professors. There are more than 28000 students in all kinds of schools.

According to the industrial structure and talent demand of the Economic Zone on the west side of the Straits, Xiamen Institute of technology will cooperate with famous universities at home and abroad, such as Huaqiao University, Xi'an Jiaotong University and Wilfred Laurier of Canada, to introduce high-quality resources in terms of teaching staff and teaching management.
