Sichuan business college, formerly known as the College of electronic information engineering of Sichuan Normal University, was established as an independent college in 2004 with the approval of the Ministry of education. In April 2015, it was approved by the Ministry of education to be established as Sichuan Business University. The university enrolls students nationwide, implements full-time undergraduate and junior college education, and cultivates high-quality applied technical and skilled talents with social responsibility, innovative spirit and practical ability.

The school covers an area of more than 1600 mu and has two campuses in Chengdu and Meishan. The Chengdu campus is located in the West high tech Zone of Chengdu at the source of Funan River, and the Meishan campus is located in Mindong new area of Meishan City, the hometown of Dongpo. The school has 11 secondary colleges and 64 specialties, including 32 undergraduate specialties, covering seven disciplines of economics, management, engineering, arts, education, law and art. At present, there are more than 20000 students on campus. There are two large-scale libraries with a collection of more than 1.9 million paper books and a large number of digital resources. The school also has 77 off campus practice bases and 171 on campus experimental training rooms.
