Northeast Petroleum University is a national key university. It was born with the discovery of Daqing oil field. It is an ordinary university with engineering as the main subject and coordinated development of engineering, science, management, literature, economics, law, education and art. The University began to recruit undergraduates in 1961, and obtained the right to confer master's degree in 1981 and doctor's degree in 1993.
