The predecessor of Xuzhou bioengineering vocational and technical college is Xuzhou Agricultural School of Jiangsu Province, which was founded in 1956. In 2012, with the approval of Jiangsu Provincial People's government and the record of the Ministry of education, it was upgraded to "Xuzhou bioengineering vocational and Technical College" and became a public university.
