Jiangyin's powerful industrial cluster has bred Jiangyin vocational and technical college, the only public university in Jiangyin.

The college covers an area of 512 mu, with a construction area of more than 200000 square meters. The total value of various teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is more than 30 million yuan. There are 7 departments and 2 departments including Department of mechanical and electrical engineering, Department of electronic information engineering, Department of chemical textile engineering, Department of computer science, Department of art and design, Department of management, Department of foreign languages, Department of basic science, Department of physical education, etc. there is also a college of adult education. Around the local industrial structure, more than 40 specialties have been set up, among which five specialties, including mechatronics, computer art design, computer network technology, electrical automation and fashion design, are provincial specialty. At present, there are nearly 8000 students and 519 teaching staff, of which 318 are full-time teachers. Teachers with middle and senior professional titles account for more than 70% of full-time teachers. The employment rate of graduates has remained above 98% year after year, of which about 80% are employed in Jiangyin, and more than 30% have become middle-level cadres or technical backbones in Jiangyin enterprises, providing strong talent support for Jiangyin's economic development.

Based on Jiangyin's economic construction and social development, from the height of students' lifelong development, the college vividly puts forward the talent training goal of "soul of Jiangyin, root in enterprises, and cultivate qualified production, operation and management personnel with" team leader "or above potential" for Jiangyin's enterprise group.
