Shanghai Vocational College of agriculture and Forestry

Shanghai agriculture and Forestry Vocational and technical college is the only higher vocational and technical college with modern urban agriculture in Shanghai. It is a higher vocational college with Shanghai characteristics and the first batch of 100 apprenticeship pilot units of the Ministry of education. It is a national civilized unit and a civilized unit in Shanghai.

The college was officially established in the campus of Shanghai Agricultural School in 2002, and its history can be traced back to 1947. The college adheres to the campus cultural spirit of "advocating agriculture and happy farming" and adheres to the school running tenet of "serving agriculture and setting up the school with characteristics", so as to cultivate a large number of management and technical talents for Shanghai agriculture. 70% of the management and technical personnel in Shanghai agricultural front are graduates of our university.

The college has four campuses: Songjiang main campus, Pudong Lingang campus, Songjiang Maogang campus and Fengxian Bay campus, covering an area of 1452 mu. "Songjiang main campus" is located in the old city of Songjiang, covering an area of 161 mu. "Songjiang Maogang campus" is located in Songjiang Punan modern agricultural park, covering an area of 270 mu. It is a Shanghai urban agriculture and forestry open training center integrating modern ecological agriculture, teaching and training, and social services. "Fengxian Bay campus" is located in Fengxian Bay town bright food group 54 farm, covering an area of 620 mu, is one of the productive training bases. "Pudong Campus" is located in Shuyuan Town, Pudong New Area, covering an area of 401 mu. It is 20 km away from Pudong Airport and 8 km away from Dishui Lake, Lingang New Town.

At present, the college has more than 300 teaching staff, including more than 40 with the title of deputy senior high or above, and more than 4000 full-time students. At present, the college has six departments and two departments, including plant science and Technology Department, landscape architecture technology department, animal science and Technology Department, agricultural biology and ecological technology department, agricultural economic management department, agricultural information engineering department, basic department and ideological and political theory research department. It has 22 specialties, and has formed the major of Horticulture Technology, landscape technology, animal medicine, biotechnology and application, agricultural economic management and soft education The college has a sound system of agriculture related majors, covering agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, sideline fishery and other major categories of Agronomy, basically meeting the needs of modern urban agriculture in Shanghai. The proportion of students of agriculture related majors and agriculture related majors exceeded 80%. The major of landscape technology is the key major of the State Forestry Administration, and the major of animal medicine is the major supported by the central government and the first-class construction major of Higher Vocational Education in Shanghai.

The college actively explores innovative talent training mode, and has established stable school enterprise, school research and school administration cooperation relations with leading agricultural enterprises such as bright food group, real estate and garden, Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Chongming County Agricultural Committee. Up to now, there are 19 modern apprenticeship classes and school enterprise cooperation classes between the college and agricultural enterprises. The college has established a stable and good cooperative relationship with relevant agricultural universities and training institutions in Denmark, Israel, France, the United States, Germany, Taiwan, China, etc., and has selected more than 100 students and teachers to go abroad for training every year.

Every year, the college organizes a team to participate in the agricultural project competition of the national vocational skills competition on behalf of Shanghai, and has won the first prize for many times in agricultural product quality and safety detection, agricultural machinery maintenance, Newcastle disease detection, art flower arrangement and other projects. The college attaches importance to the docking industry, pays equal attention to both pre and post employment, and actively participates in the training and cultivation of new vocational farmers. Every year, it trains nearly 10000 new vocational farmers and agricultural skill appraisal, and trains and appraises more than 7000 rural labor force.

The college won the titles of 2016 outstanding unit of China's education, the fourth national civilized unit, Shanghai civilized campus, Shanghai safe demonstration unit, Shanghai garden unit, advanced collective of "three supports and one support" plan for college graduates in Shanghai, national science popularization demonstration base for young people and Shanghai Institute of national vocational qualification appraisal. The professional skill appraisal station of the Ministry of agriculture of the people's Republic of China was awarded as "national excellent agricultural professional skill appraisal station".
