Anhui Institute of foreign languages is a full-time undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of education. It is one of the 13 independent foreign language colleges in China and the only undergraduate foreign language college in Central China. Adhering to the motto of "learning both at home and abroad, combining knowledge with practice", the college aims to cultivate foreign-related white-collar workers, and is committed to cultivating students into compound and applied foreign-related professionals who are not only proficient in foreign languages, but also have international vision and are familiar with international economic and trade rules.

The college is located in the west of the prosperous Avenue in Hefei City, Anhui Province, with beautiful environment, beautiful scenery, distinctive European characteristics and strong foreign language atmosphere. Adhering to the principle of "high level, high starting point, characteristic and internationalization", the college has built 48 advanced experimental training rooms for international trade, simulated customs declaration, marketing and securities investment. Among them, the "international logistics experimental training center" has won the financial support of the central government, and the "international tourism experimental training center" has become a provincial demonstration training center. The college has 52 off campus practice and training bases and 71 graduate employment bases. The college library is one of the largest libraries in the same kind of colleges and universities, with a construction area of more than 20000 square meters, a collection of 850000 books, 310000 e-books, 758 kinds of newspapers and periodicals, including 126 kinds of foreign newspapers and periodicals. It can use China Journal Network, Wanfang database and other educational resources on the Internet.

The college has five colleges and two teaching departments, including the school of international business, the school of international economics, the school of international tourism, the school of western languages and the school of Oriental languages. It has 14 undergraduate majors, including 8 Foreign Economics and management majors and 6 foreign languages majors; 31 junior college majors, including 24 foreign economics and management majors and 7 foreign languages majors. "Customs declaration and international freight", "hotel management", "Applied English" and "Tourism Japanese" majors were rated as provincial characteristic majors. The college offers seven languages, including English, Japanese, German, Korean, Russian, French and Spanish, and is the university with the largest number of foreign languages in Anhui Province. The college has strong strength and distinctive characteristics in foreign economy, management and foreign language related majors. At the present stage, the college mainly focuses on undergraduate education, and all specialties of junior college still continue to recruit students.

The college adheres to the strategy of "strengthening the school with talents" and has a high-quality teaching staff. There are 436 full-time teachers in the college, of which 142 have the title of deputy senior or above, accounting for 32.6%, including 30 full-time professors. The college has 15 foreign teachers and 30 double qualified teachers.

The college always adheres to teaching as the center, takes the road of connotation development, and constantly improves the quality of education and teaching. Due to the high quality of training, graduates have been widely praised and favored by the society. Not only the employment rate of graduates has always been maintained at more than 98%, but also the quality of employment is high. For many years, they have been awarded the title of "advanced group of employment work for ordinary college graduates in Anhui Province" by Anhui Provincial Department of education. The college's admission rate from college to university has always been among the best in the same kind of colleges in the province. Many college graduates further study through the channel of "college to university", and some have obtained master's and doctor's degrees. In recent years, the college has made remarkable achievements in entrepreneurship, and won the organization award of the 5th and 7th Anhui College Students' career planning and design competition and college students' entrepreneurship competition.

The college has set up the concept of internationalization and constantly strengthened international cooperation and exchanges. The college has signed international exchange and cooperation agreements with the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Japan and South Korea. The Sino Australian and Sino Japanese cooperation project jointly implemented with the University of La Trobe in Australia and Chiba University of Science in Japan has been approved by the Department of education of Anhui Province, and all the enrollment has been incorporated into the national unified enrollment system The project provides another channel for students to obtain high-quality educational resources.
