History

In 1984, a group of outstanding professors and scholars from famous universities and educational units in China resolutely established "Beijing University for Nationalities" in the period of reform and opening up, with the purpose of "educating people and serving the country" and the school running philosophy of "strengthening foundation, skills, moral education and quality".

Mr. Aixinjueluo PuJie, the royal family of Qing Dynasty, inscribed the school board of "Beijing University for Nationalities".

In 1994, Buhe, then vice chairman of the National People's Congress, wrote the school motto of "unity, civilization, diligence and innovation".

In 1998, it was awarded as "model unit of national unity and progress" by the National Committee for democracy and people's Republic of China and Beijing Municipal People's government.

In 2007, it was awarded as "garden style unit for greening and beautifying the capital" by Beijing Municipal People's government.

In 2011, standing at the strategic height of education modernization and education informatization, the University re planned and deployed the informatization construction work. Some teaching and management applications were independent scientific research construction projects. Since 1984, the school has raised funds to build a 6082 square meter main teaching building with unique national characteristics, a 3630 square meter European style library and a 13332 square meter plastic sports ground.

Comprehensive

Beijing University for nationalities was founded in 1984. It is a full-time comprehensive university for Nationalities approved by Beijing Municipal Education Commission and registered by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. In 1993, it was approved as one of the first batch (15) pilot schools of Higher Education Diploma examination in China. At present, there are more than 5000 students, including more than 30 ethnic groups, accounting for 20% of the students. In 2007, it was awarded as "annual poverty alleviation and love school" by China Association for poverty alleviation and development; in the series of activities of "education changes China", it was jointly awarded as "China education quality model private university" by China Education Change Committee, Beijing Representative Office of UNESCO and other institutions, enjoying a high reputation at home and abroad; during the 2008 Olympic Games, it made a breakthrough for social security and stability The security office of Beijing University for nationalities was awarded the third class collective merit by Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau.

Founded in 2004, the Committee of Beijing University for Nationalities of the Communist Party of China has strengthened the idea and direction of running a school and cultivated many outstanding student cadres and student party members. The Party committee of Beijing University for nationalities has established nine party branches in all colleges and departments. The school has set up an amateur Party school. The students are active in politics and ideology and close to the party organization. 67% of the young students have submitted applications for joining the party. Every year, dozens of students join the Communist Party of China.

The university has a strong faculty, all from famous universities or scientific research institutions in the capital. Most of the teachers are lecturers, associate professors, professors or experts. Over the past 29 years, the school has trained nearly 10000 graduates and short-term students of various types (including more than 30 ethnic minorities).

Since 2008, the school has built its own campus network to realize the campus broadband network access to the student dormitory. In order to better serve the majority of teachers and students, the school has reconstructed and expanded the campus network for the second time, and upgraded the network to the student apartment building. At the same time, the school plans to start the construction of campus wireless network in two stages. At present, the first phase of the pilot has been completed, and the wireless network has been implemented throughout the school in succession, so that students' mobile phones and mobile computers can access the network at any corner of the campus for entertainment and learning at any time.

The campus of Beijing University for Nationalities covers an area of 120000 square meters, including a teaching building with ethnic characteristics, a library with European style, a warm and comfortable apartment building, a spacious and bright ladder classroom, a modern dance teaching and practice hall, and a well-equipped comprehensive experimental building. Establish a comprehensive restaurant to meet the needs of students from different regions, with halal canteen. In 2012, the school invested more than one million yuan to rebuild 14000 square meters of plastic track and comprehensive sports ground for various sports activities. The school has modernized teaching equipment, including 7 large-scale computer rooms, 44 multimedia classrooms and 3 voice rooms; it is equipped with a full set of audio-visual education system and installed with more than 70 closed-circuit TVs; it has more than 80 piano rooms, 50 teaching piano rooms, more than 20 electronic piano rooms and 2 MIDI classrooms; the library has a collection of more than 160000 books and more than 90000 online books. At the same time, in order to further improve the students' learning environment, the school has completed the construction of computer electronic reading room and four large reading rooms, which can fully meet the students' learning needs.
