Advertising College of Beijing Union University is the first public advertising college in China with higher education enrollment qualification. With the rapid development of China's economy, the huge market potential of the advertising industry has attracted much attention. China's advertising market is expected to become one of the three global advertising markets in the next 10 years. But in today's fierce competition for talent market environment, excellent advertising professionals have been in a shortage, advertising professional education is relatively backward. The contradiction between the supply and demand of advertising talents is prominent, which does not match the fact that advertising is a high-tech industry with "knowledge intensive, talent intensive and technology intensive". The success of advertising depends on the success of professional education. In the face of the opportunity of the great development of advertising industry, advertising college aims to cultivate excellent applied professional advertising talents, give full play to the advantages of resource sharing between colleges and industries, and explore new ways of school enterprise cooperation in running schools and cultivating applied professional talents. The four pairs include:
Double qualification: first, full-time teachers interact with the society, participate in advertising practice activities of the industry, and enrich the teaching content with practical results; second, employ industry experts, scholars and senior people to give lectures or give special lectures in the college, so as to broaden students' professional vision.
Double Classroom: the first classroom is the classroom teaching in the teaching plan; the second classroom includes practice class and off campus industry activities, that is, internship in advertising companies and media advertising departments.
Double bases: the college has established a long-term internship cooperation relationship with more than 20 advertising companies, allowing students to participate in advertising operation and enhance practical operation ability; in addition, the college is also a training base for employees of industry advertising companies.
Double certificates: one is to enable students to obtain academic certificates of higher vocational education through formal education; the other is to enable students to obtain relevant professional certificates through professional training in school, so as to lay a foundation for students to enter the society.
In terms of basic theory education, the college pays attention to the combination of production, study and research, employs Mr. Zhang Qizhi, a famous professor in the field of education, as the honorary president, and establishes the college's Education Steering Committee and advisory committee composed of education experts and industry senior people. The college has not only undertaken the national teaching material project of the Ministry of education for higher education in the 10th Five Year Plan period, including some teaching materials of advertising series, but also published a number of professional theoretical teaching materials and works. The number of professors and associate professors in the teaching team accounts for about 70% of the total number of teachers. There are professors and scholars from national and Beijing key universities, as well as experts, senior people, entrepreneurs and business backbones from domestic and foreign advertising industry and enterprises and institutions.
In terms of practical teaching, the college has set up many practical courses such as web design practice course, advertising creativity and case analysis practice course according to professional characteristics, and signed cooperation agreements with many employers and companies to serve as the college's practice base to provide students with practice and internship opportunities. At the same time, we regularly invite successful industry senior people to hold professional lectures to improve students' practical design, innovation and creative ability. Under the guidance of professional teachers, students also participated in the "golden calf Award" and "golden pencil" advertising creative design competition.
In terms of international cooperation and academic exchanges, the college has established a good academic research and exchange training mechanism with a number of universities in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries, which can transport outstanding students to study abroad. At the same time, in order to satisfy the desire of people from all walks of life and in-service advertising practitioners for advertising knowledge, our college has been approved as the main examination college of advertising major in self-taught higher education since 2001, and actively carried out the national long-term recruitment of advertising specialist and undergraduate full-time study classes, and held various short-term professional training according to the market demand.
The training objectives of advertising college are: to cultivate excellent applied advertising talents with comprehensive development of morality, intelligence and sports, rich knowledge of culture and science, high quality of Humanities and Social Sciences, proficient English conversation and writing ability, not only understanding the basic theoretical knowledge of advertising major, but also mastering advertising skills, rich in creativity and pioneering spirit.
Advertising College is located in Wenquan Town, Haidian District, Beijing, adjacent to Yongfeng high tech park, which is the key development area of Beijing. Covering an area of 600 mu, the campus is transformed from the original baiting fish park. The buildings in the park are simple and elegant, and every corner is full of cultural atmosphere. The park has beautiful environment, fresh air, green trees, flowers in full bloom, fish in the pond, warblers singing and swallows dancing.
