Guangdong Nanhua Business Vocational College (hereinafter referred to as "College"), the former private Nanhua business college, was established in 1993. It is a full-time ordinary university established on the basis of Guangdong Federation of trade union cadre school with the approval of Guangdong Provincial People's government and the record of the Ministry of education. On August 23, 2016, the Guangdong provincial government issued a document (YFH (2016) No. 270) to agree that the nature of the college should be changed from private to public, and it should be renamed as Guangdong Nanhua Vocational College of industry and commerce. The administrative department of the college is the Federation of trade unions of Guangdong Province, and the business department is the Department of education of Guangdong Province.

The college has three campuses, Tianhe, Huangpu and Qingyuan, with a campus area of more than 1100 mu, a building area of 174000 square meters and a student scale of more than 10000. Tianhe campus is located at the foot of Baiyun Mountain in Guangzhou with beautiful scenery and at shatai South Road in tianpingjia, Guangzhou with convenient transportation. Huangpu campus is located in Changzhou cultural tourism scenic area, Huangpu District, Guangzhou City, which is connected with a bridge of Guangzhou University City. Qingyuan new campus is located in the education and Culture Park of Qingcheng District, Qingyuan City, which is known as "the back garden of Guangzhou". The campus covers an area of 995 mu. It is close to mountains and rivers, with fresh air. The campus is well planned, with beautiful environment, elegant, simple and heavy buildings, and complete supporting facilities for life and entertainment.

The college, with liberal arts as the main subject and engineering as the main subject, takes higher vocational education and trade union cadre education as the main body, and gives consideration to continuing education and vocational qualification training. It now has 28 majors, including school of information engineering and business management, School of foreign languages and foreign trade, School of Finance and finance, School of architecture and art design, Department of tourism management, Department of law and public utilities, Department of Ideological and political education and Department of sports and arts（ Group), covering economics, engineering, law, management and other 10 university disciplines, with customs declaration and freight, accounting (CPA) two provincial key majors, as well as "financial management and practice", "business enterprise management", "architectural decoration engineering technology", "business English", "computer network technology", "hotel management" and other brand majors. Relying on the Provincial Federation of trade unions and the cadre training resource network of the Provincial Federation of trade unions, the Department of law and public affairs of the college has set up specialties such as "social work", "community management and service" and "labor relations management", focusing on cultivating labor relations professionals who understand theory, have ability and high quality, and are close to the social needs. It has obvious characteristics and advantages in Guangdong Province and even the whole country.

The college actively promotes international cooperation in running schools. At present, it has cooperated with Pusan Foreign Studies University, Dongming University, Dongguo University and Silla University in running schools. It has opened "Applied Korean" and Sino Korean trade majors. Students of this major can go to Korea for further study, undergraduate and postgraduate studies. At present, the college has sent more than 500 students to study in Korea; It has cooperated with Thailand's Boren university to run a school, set up the ASEAN International Trade professional direction, and officially enrolled students in 2014.

The college has set up "national awards, grants and loans", "freshmen scholarship" and "freshmen grants". Guangdong Federation of trade unions has specially set up "Provincial Federation of trade unions scholarship", "Provincial Federation of trade unions inspirational scholarship", "Provincial Federation of trade unions grants", "model children, disabled students' tuition aid" and "urban poor workers' children grants"; Guangzhou Baiyun International Conference Center Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Conghua Bishuiwan hot spring resort Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Dongfang Hotel Co., Ltd., Dongguan Burton Catering Service Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou taohuahu travel group have cooperated with our college to set up school enterprise cooperation order training programs to provide internship grants for students applying for these programs.

Combined with the characteristics of vocational education and the law of personnel training, the college creatively puts forward and implements the advanced education concept of "first line positioning, liberal education" around the students' professional development, all-round development and lifelong development, and realizes the organic combination of "teaching" and "educating". The motto of the college is "the spirit of seeking truth and being pragmatic, the style of being diligent and studious, the healthy and harmonious body and mind, and the character of being elegant and self respecting."

Centering on the concept of first-line positioning, the college constantly deepens the talent training mode of "school enterprise cooperation, work study combination". As of 2016, the college has built 153 off campus practice and training bases with CITIC Securities, Yangcheng Evening News, China Resources Vanguard, Shangri La and other well-known enterprises; It has successively established cooperative school running relationships with 10 well-known group enterprises, including Baiyun International Conference Center, which is the Great Hall of the people in Guangdong Province, such as order form training, college campus enterprise, enterprise management teaching and workshop classroom. Among them, the cooperation mode and achievements between the Department of tourism management and Baiyun International Conference Center won the best school enterprise Cooperation Award of the first National Tourism University in business service industry in 2011. The two school enterprise cooperation bases of the college have won the construction project of off campus practice teaching base for college students of higher vocational education. They are "Baiyun International Conference Center Exhibition major, hotel management major school enterprise joint construction talent training practice base" of tourism management department, and "Lingfeng communication investment and financial management professional service and marketing practice teaching base" of Finance College. The two training bases have been approved by the provincial higher vocational education training base construction projects, which are "industrial and commercial enterprise management" professional training base and "hotel management" professional training base.

After nearly 20 years of healthy operation, with the hard work of all staff, the work of the college has made great progress. In recent years, the employment rate of graduates has always been maintained at more than 98%, ranking in the forefront of similar universities in Guangdong Province. So far, the college has provided more than 40000 professional and technical talents for the country. Most of them have become the backbone of various industries in Guangdong Province, especially in the Pearl River Delta region. They have made important contributions to the economic construction and social development of various regions, and enjoy good social reputation both inside and outside the province. In 2006, the college successfully passed the personnel training assessment of the Ministry of education. With the continuous strengthening of connotation construction and the continuous improvement of comprehensive school running level, the college has been awarded "civilized unit of Guangdong Province", "civilized unit of organs directly under Guangdong Province", "advanced collective of Guangdong Province", "red flag Youth League Committee of May 4th movement of Guangdong Province" and "advanced collective of employment of college graduates of Guangdong Province" "Guangzhou Asian Games, Asian Paralympic Games volunteer work excellent organization unit" and other honorary titles.
