Jinhua Vocational and technical college was founded in 1994. It was established on the basis of Jinhua Institute of technology. It inherited the vocational education tradition of six national and provincial key technical secondary schools, including Zhejiang agricultural machinery school, Jinhua Trade and economic school, Jinhua normal school (including Yiwu normal school), Jinhua agricultural school and Jinhua health school. It has a history of 102 years. At present, it is the earliest, largest and most professional college approved by Zhejiang Province, and the first one to pass the excellent evaluation of talent training level in higher vocational colleges. It is the construction unit of National Demonstrative Higher Vocational Colleges, the advanced unit of national vocational education, the civilized unit of Zhejiang Province, the member unit of the joint conference of principals of higher vocational colleges, and the executive director of China Higher Vocational and Technical Education Research Association Director unit, executive director unit of industry university research branch of Chinese society of higher education.
At present, the school has a planned area of 3020 mu, a developed area of 2200 mu, a construction area of 560000 square meters, a total fixed assets value of 850 million yuan, a total teaching equipment value of 100 million yuan, a collection of more than 1.2 million books of various types, more than 1200 Teaching staff (excluding affiliated hospitals), more than 20000 students in the school and more than 20000 adult students of various types. Since 2003, the school has actively adapted to the development of local economy and society. On the basis of the experience of "medicine marketing class", it has cooperated closely with industries and enterprises to explore and form a "five in one" education mode of integrated design and operation of base, enrollment, teaching, scientific research and employment. In the process of deepening and improving the mode, the school gradually carries out the construction of "production base inside the school and teaching base outside the school". The school divides the off campus base into three levels: general type, close type and demonstration type, and focuses on the construction of a demonstration base with stable teaching workshops and instructors, batch receiving students' practice and training, and undertaking certain courses. At present, there are more than 700 off campus bases with standardized management, including more than 230 compact bases and 57 teaching demonstration bases.
