1、 Historical evolution and current situation

The predecessor of Qingdao Agricultural University is Laiyang Agricultural College. It was founded in 1951. In 2001, it was approved by Shandong provincial government to establish Qingdao Campus. In March 2007, it was renamed as "Qingdao Agricultural University" with the approval of the Ministry of education. The school address was changed from Laiyang City to Chengyang District of Qingdao city.

Since its establishment, the university has trained more than 80000 full-time graduates for the society. Sun Zhengcai, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and Li Denghai, an expert in corn breeding, are outstanding representatives of the alumni.
