Guangdong Construction Vocational and technical college is the only public construction vocational college in Guangdong Province. It is the main base for the cultivation of high-quality technical talents in the construction industry and the cradle of "modern Luban" in Guangdong.

Our predecessor is Guangdong construction engineering technical school established in 1979; Guangdong Construction Engineering School established in 1986; approved by Guangdong Provincial People's government and put on record by the Ministry of education in May 2001, it was upgraded to higher vocational college. In April 2006, the college was under the charge of Guangdong Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and was officially transferred to the Department of education of Guangdong Province. Over the past 37 years, the college has always taken the initiative to serve the needs of the construction industry and regional economic development as its own responsibility, established the school running goal of "well-known in China, leading in the industry and serving Guangdong", and formed the school running concept of "cultivating morality, integrating work and study, innovative development and characteristic school running"
At present, there are two campuses, covering an area of about 400 mu, with more than 7000 full-time vocational students. Our college has been identified by the provincial government as the first batch of vocational education bases in Qingyuan, Guangdong Province. The provincial development and Reform Commission officially approved the proposal for the first phase project of Qingyuan new campus, marking the start of the new campus construction project covering an area of 800 mu.
School enterprise cooperation has been further promoted, and the integration of industry and education has achieved remarkable results.

Our college has maintained close cooperation with more than 300 industries and enterprises, and has jointly established Guangdong Construction Vocational Education Group to carry out extensive and in-depth cooperation in modern apprenticeship pilot, staff training, technology research and development, etc.
At present, the modern apprenticeship pilot has been carried out in the three majors of construction engineering technology, construction equipment engineering technology and logistics management. The project of "construction equipment collaborative education platform" jointly applied by Guangdong Construction Industry Association, Guangdong Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and other related enterprises has been approved by the Provincial Department of education in the 13th five year plan. The BIM Engineering Center established by the college has carried out in-depth technology research and development and social services with enterprises, and achieved remarkable results in the application and promotion of building information technology.
There are many bright spots in teaching reform and fruitful achievements in quality engineering.
The "teaching quality project" has been implemented in an all-round way, and the major construction and curriculum construction have achieved good results. Relying on the construction industry, it actively serves the strategic emerging industries and modern service industries in Guangdong Province, and constructs a professional layout with the construction majors as the main body and the coordinated development of Electromechanical, municipal, environmental protection, art design, electronic information, finance and other majors.
At present, there are 30 enrollment majors, which is the most comprehensive higher vocational college in Guangdong Province. It has 2 central financial support construction specialties, 1 national brand specialty, 1 provincial demonstration specialty, 2 provincial brand specialties and 5 provincial key specialties. Three majors have carried out modern apprenticeship pilot; the project of "construction equipment collaborative education platform" has been approved by the Provincial Department of education. There are 1 National Education Commission excellent course, 9 provincial excellent resource sharing courses, 50 on campus training bases (including 4 central and provincial training bases), 101 off campus training bases and 2 off campus practice teaching bases for provincial college students. There are 9 entrepreneurship training programs for college students in Guangdong Province. There are 14 provincial education reform projects and 14 provincial Education Commission projects. There are 2 provincial teaching achievement awards and 87 scientific research projects under research.
The teachers are strong and the proportion of full-time and part-time teachers is reasonable.
We have vigorously implemented the project of strengthening teachers, formulated the measures for the introduction and management of college talents, and focused on the introduction of high-level talents. Actively cultivate high-level professional leaders and professional backbone teachers to promote the overall quality of professional teachers. At present, there are 69 full-time teachers with the title of deputy senior high or above (including 13 senior high), 16 full-time teachers with doctoral degree and 169 full-time teachers with master's degree. The enrollment rate of freshmen and the employment rate of graduates have maintained a good development trend. In recent years, the enrollment rate of new students has exceeded 80%. The total employment rate of graduates is more than 98%, higher than the average employment rate of the whole province.
