Songtian College of Guangzhou University was founded in September 2000 by Guangzhou University and Zengcheng Songtian Industrial Co., Ltd. In April 2004, it was approved as an independent college by the Ministry of education, realizing the leap from junior college to undergraduate education. In January 2005, the college successfully passed the special inspection of the Ministry of education. In 2011, the college and 15 applied majors passed the bachelor's degree awarding right evaluation organized by Guangdong Academic Degrees Committee at one time.
