Changchun medical college is located in Changchun Economic and Technological Development Zone, Jilin Province. Founded in 1936, it is a full-time general college approved by the Ministry of education. 73 years of history has accumulated profound humanistic deposits. Under the guidance of the school running philosophy of "teaching to benefit students and learning to be benevolent", the medical college has condensed the school motto of "medical ethics" and integrated the education of "love" and "morality" into all aspects of personnel training.

In 2001, the University merged with Changchun staff medical university and Medical Information Institute, and in 2007, it merged with Changchun Amateur University. Through the integration of resources, the improvement of school running conditions, and the strengthening of connotation construction, the work of the school has developed vigorously. In 2007, the school has made outstanding achievements in the evaluation of talent training level of the Ministry of education, which was determined as a model college by Jilin Provincial Department of Education and "model collective" by Changchun municipal government.

During the Tenth Five Year Plan period, the school has made remarkable achievements in leaping development. At present, the school covers an area of about 360000 square meters, with a construction area of 150000 square meters, fixed assets of 221 million yuan, a collection of 310000 books, and a total value of 46.98 million yuan of scientific research equipment.
