Shanghai

Shanghai, or Shanghai for short, is one of China's four municipalities directly under the central government and the center of China's economic, financial, trade, shipping and technological innovation. Shanghai is located in East China, between 120 ° 52 ′ - 122 ° 12 ′ E and 30 ° 40 ′ - 31 ° 53 ′ n. It is located at the estuary of the Yangtze River. During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, Shanghai was the fief of Huang Xie, the king of Chunshen in the state of Chu. During the Jin Dynasty in the fourth and fifth centuries, because fishermen created fishing tools "Hu", the place where the river flowed into the sea was called "Du", so the lower reaches of Songjiang River was called "Hu Du" and later changed to "Hu", so Shanghai was called "Hu" for short.

Shanghai was named "the first tier city in the world" by GaWC in 2018. Shanghai ranks 19th in the world and 3rd in China in the comprehensive ranking of global cities in 2019 released by Kearney. Shanghai ranks 48th in the world and 4th in China in the global business environment index and top 100 cities list in 2019. On October 31, 2019, Shanghai was selected as one of the first 5g commercial cities.
