[plant morphology] Panax japonicus
Herbs perennial, ca. 30 cm tall. Root tufted, slightly fleshy, fusiform, leaf basal; linear lanceolate, 10-16 cm long, 4-10 mm wide, parallel veins obvious, hairy above, sparse below; stem leaf narrow, linear. The flower stems are cylindrical, with white long woolly hairs on the surface; the florets are mostly fleshy red, arranged in panicle like racemes, the axis is wavy and twisted, so that the flowers are arranged in spiral arrangement, the pedicel is short, the flower is linear, 1 bract; the perianth is 6-lobed. The capsule is ovoid, 3-lobed after ripening, and contains the dry residual perianth; the seeds are small, mostly, irregularly ovoid, and the seed coat is reddish brown.
Born on the side of the mountain road. It is distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou and other places.
