[plant morphology] arrow stem wind
Perennial evergreen herbs, up to 1 meter high, the whole plant has ginger smell. The rhizome is transverse, and there are fibrous roots on the nodes. The buds are pink and the culms are erect. Leaves alternate, dark green, abaxial veins raised. There are small white flowers and red spots on the top of stem. The capsule has the smell of fresh ginger and several seeds. It blooms in summer. The fruit ripens in winter.
Born in the stream, valley, forest more fertile place. It is distributed in the southeast of China.

Indications: dehumidification and detumescence, promoting qi and relieving pain. Treatment of rheumatic arthralgia, stomachache, traumatic injury.
[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 0.3-1 Liang. External use: smoked and washed with boiling water.
[selected formula] to treat postpartum wind pain: arrow stem wind, cross river dragon, betel nut drill, xuefengteng, xuedang, wuzhimilk, Acorus tatarinowii, xiaozuan (each appropriate amount), and wash the affected area with boiling water.
