[plant morphology] Dalbergia odorata
Perennial herbs, 20-30 cm high. The base is lying on the ground with fibrous roots. Stem tetragonal, nearly smooth or slightly hairy, with brown black spots. Leaves opposite, long elliptic, 10-20 cm long, 6-10 cm wide, apex pointed, base gradually narrowed, extending down to the base of petiole, narrow wing shaped, entire, scattered white short hairs on top; petiole 2-3.5 cm long. Flowers 3-5 integrated into sub head shape; pedicel terminal or upper axillary, 2-3 cm long, 2-branched; bracts round; calyx 6-lobed, lobes lanceolate, about 1 box meter long; corolla broadly tubular, 3-4 cm long, slightly near 2 lip shaped, light purple; stamens 2; ovary superior. Capsule linear, 2-4 cm long. The flowering period is from August to September.
Born in the wet and shady place of rock. It is distributed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guizhou, Sichuan, Hunan, Hubei, Shaanxi and other places.

[usage and dosage] oral: decoction, 3-5 yuan. External use: mash and apply.
