Annual herb, 30-50 cm high. The stem is thin and weak, erect or procumbent, with branches, nodes slightly expanded and longitudinal grooves. The leaves are ovate or triangular ovate, 3-5 cm long and 2-4 cm wide, apex acuminate, base truncate or round, entire, extending downward along the petiole in the form of wing or earlobe, with dense golden yellow glandular spots below; Stipule tubular, membranous, light brown, apex truncate, base sparsely hairy. Inflorescence globose, terminal or axillary, glandular hairs on peduncle; involucre ovate lanceolate; flowers white or reddish, dense; perianth usually 4-lobed, lobes oblong; stamens 6-7; style 2, lower part connate, ovary elliptic, stigma capitate. Achene round, convex on both sides, black, densely punctate, dull, enclosed in persistent perianth. The flowering period is from May to June. The fruit period is from July to August.
Born in deep and humid mountainous soil, sunny ditch and roadside. Distributed in Jilin, Liaoning, Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Fujian, Yunnan, Tibet, Guangdong, Sichuan and other places.
