Perennial herbs, 80-150 cm high. The rhizome is short and oblique. The leaves are nearly clustered; the petiole is stout, 40-60 cm long, yellowish green. Leaf blade oblong ovate, 3-pinnate, 50-100 cm long, 30-40 cm wide, apex long pointed; pinnules 12-13 pairs, lanceolate, 12-20 cm long, 5-8 (~ 10) cm wide, with short stalks; pinnules narrowly lanceolate to oblong, base truncate to cuneate, often extending into narrow wings, sessile or short stalked, pinnately lobed, lobes 4-8 mm long M, 1-2 mm wide, apex rounded, almost entire; herbaceous, bright green, hairy along veins, rarely hairy below veins.
