Herbaceous tufts for many years. The stem is weak and inclined, and the whole plant has multicellular pilose; the stem, leaf, calyx and corolla all have obvious black purple stripes; the lower part of the leaf is opposite, nearly triangular ovate, about 3 cm long and 2 cm wide; the upper part is alternate, narrow and small, rhombic ovate or even rhombic lanceolate; the petiole is shorter than the leaf, with narrow wings on both sides. Flowers simple, axillary, petiole slender; calyx 5-lobed, lobes ovate lanceolate, acuminate, about 7 mm long, margin pilose; corolla yellow, lobes 5-ovate elliptic, apex obtuse, as long as calyx; stamen 5-lobed, about half corolla long, filament base connected into a short tube; style slightly longer than stamen, base with multicellular hair.
