[plant morphology] Stephania paniculata
Small evergreen recumbent shrub. The root is much branched. Stem spinulose and densely covered with gray tomentose. Leaves alternate; suborbicular or broad heart-shaped, 5.5-9.5 cm long, 7-10 cm wide, apex apical, base heart-shaped, margin with indistinct lobes and fine sharp teeth, white tomentose below, pink white, veins yellowish brown, prominent; leaves 4-8 cm long; stipules large, leaflike, with incised teeth; flowers 1-2 axillary or terminal; total pedicels. Pedicel and calyx lobes densely gray tomentose; flowers white; calyx lobes ovate, apex acuminate or striped; petals suborbicular, base clawed. Aggregate fruit, ovate, red.
Born on the hillside and roadside. It is distributed in Hubei, Sichuan, Guizhou, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan and other places.
