[synonym] baizongzi (Pharmacology) and zongshuguo (Yunnan Chinese herbal medicine).
[source] it is the mature fruit of palm. See "palm skin" for plant morphology.
[collection] before and after frost fall, the peel should be harvested and dried when it is green and black.
The dried fruit is kidney shaped, 7-9 mm long and 5-7 mm short in diameter. The surface is dark grayish brown or grayish yellow, with reticular wrinkles, sometimes peeling, and the interior is smooth. Short stipes or round stipe scars can be seen in the kidney shaped depression. It's hard. After peeling off the pericarp and seed coat, two thick brown endosperm could be seen. There is no breath, and the taste is light.
