Erect trees. The bark is corky. Leaves opposite, 2-3 pinnate compound, leaflets dentate when young, usually entire. Panicles many flowered, terminal on drooping branches; calyx small, campanulate, cleft teeth 5, inconspicuous; corolla white, tube very long, slender, lobes 5, ovate, nearly equal, slightly valvate; stamens 4, 2 long, 2 short, inserted below throat, short prominent; ovary subsessile, ovule sequence. Capsule linear, compressed, membranous. Seeds discoid, broadly winged.
Wild or cultivated.
