[plant morphology] Dryopteris villosa
Herbs perennial, up to 26 cm tall. Many fibrous roots, fleshy. The sterile petiole has gray white villi. The leaf blade is 18-25 cm long and 24-27 cm wide or wider. The lower part is 3-4 pinnate. The basal part has one pair of largest pinnae, triangular, 15 cm long and 6-8 cm wide. The sporophyll is produced from the lower part or near the base of the sterile leaf, shorter than the sterile leaf, 2-3 pinnate, conic, 8-11 cm long, 5-7 cm long, spikelets open, loose and fluffy.
It grows under the miscellaneous trees in the mountain area. It is distributed in Hunan, Guizhou, Guangxi and Yunnan.
