Perennial herbs, 45-65 cm high. The stem is erect, the upper part is covered with coarse hairs, the lower part is nearly smooth, and the base has residual leaf sheath. Leaves alternate, ovate or broadly ovate, 3-6 cm long and 1.5-4.5 cm wide, apex short, base obtuse, entire, amplexicaul, glabrous above, coarsely hairy below, veins parallel. Inflorescence terminal; flower yellow green, each flower has a long ovate bract; perianth 2, outer 3, dorsal narrow, cucullate, about 6 mm long, 1.5 mm wide, lateral ovate lanceolate; inner 3, lateral ovate lanceolate, slightly shorter than outer; labellum short, cucullate, spurless; stigma short, ovary obovate, slightly curved. It blooms in autumn.
It grows on hillside and grass. It is distributed in Yunnan and other places.
[collection] dig roots in autumn, wash and dry.
Bitter, cold.
Functions and indications: clearing liver and lung heat, relieving cough and resolving phlegm. Treatment of lung heat, sore throat, sore throat, cough.
